Thaidakar is mentioned twice in tWoK. Once by Gavilar just before he dies and once by Amaram just before he kills Kaladins men. Neither one refers to him as a Highprince.

It seems unlikely that Amaram wouldn't know what Gavilar's blade and plate looked like. Even if he and Dalinar weren't old friends I would think most high ranking lighteyes would have seen Gavilar in plate. Unless Amaram is rather young and his friendship to Dalinar is after Gavilar's death.
