one flaw he never says that is amplifies his fighting ability. In fact he says that he could of beat them easier w/o that ability. Plus soon after he played around with it he faught Szeth and finds out he could do something far more then just stick people to the floor or wall. He put far more practice into flying then he did with the sticky whatever you want to call it. So far every power up hasn't given anyone new info on how to use there abilities just makes them easier to use, which i like that they have to learn not just all of a sudden just know how to do everything. Another point he never really fought on the ground after that in the open his big fight was in the air. The other fights he was still trying to hide what he could do so if he just stuck the fighters in the ring to the ground it wouldn't of been true to his character. I don't think it is a Shardblade. Why would you put a Shardblade in a safe to keep it safe when you can just turn it to mist. I think Shallan's family was attacked by a group using a Shadeblade. During the attack Shallan walks in frightened picks up a Soulcaster( cause she has seen it used before and knows it's powerful) and kills them. After the deaths Shallan claims the blade by being curious and touches it. Her father seeing all this, scared out of his mind for his daughter, put the soulcaster in the safe calling IT a monster cause he doesn't want to blame his kid. Her father then becomes super protective of her cause he doesn't want her to remember the events and is scared of her a little.

A little off topic but has anyone mentioned that the reason Amaram made it to the shattered plains in the first place might be because the border fights might of stopped. Since you know most the worlds leaders have been killed by a certain assassin in white. In that case most country's would pull back their force to consolidate there power.

I think there will quite a few spoken in this book, maybe as much as 5 including lifts. Kaladin I can see saying 2, one about leadership(dealing with Amaram) and another about protecting(during Szeth fight). Shallan will probably say 2 herself no clue as to when or how leave that up to Brandon's genius. I just can't believe Reranin will say one in this book unless he starts to get a more active role or a POV.

I'm more curious as to who will be around him when he says the next ideal. When he spoke the second there was a sound like thunder and a kinda shock wave coming off him as he explodes with energy.

Don't think I've seen anyone mention it but hopefully if not this book down the line he see's Larel again.
