  1. I have a nagging (and perhaps unreasonable) suspicion that Adolin will turn out like Amaram did. Both of them are (were in Amaram's case) always being praised for being so loyal, brave, etc. Dalinar is always saying how Adolin will be a much better high prince than he was, but I feel that that might be too perfect to be true. Also, remember how Adolin was acting toward Kaladin at the beginning of WOR, he was acting in quite a petty and childish manner; he was jealous and angry with Kal when he had no right to be. Kaladin had to save his and his father's lives many times before he got anything but Adolin's scorn, and remember, it was saving their lives that started the whole behavior (okay, it was also bossing him around on the Tower plateau, but still, the point stands as Kaladin only told him to go away in order to save his life).
  2. Just to go back to the earlier point about Kaladin's intelligence vs Adolin's: Shallan said in tWoK that she prefers more scholarly men (mind you, that may have been before she broke up with Kabsal, I forget) and while Adolin may be many things, he is certainly not a scholar; Kaladin, on the other hand, even if he is quite a capable fighter, was educated as a surgeon and Shallan even commented that he was educated as a lighteyes in WoR (Adolin was too but I do not think that was the focus of his childhood).
  3. I, personally, think that a repeat of the Navani/Dalinar/Galivar love triangle would be bad. If the love story were to proceed that way Navani might warn Shallan away from getting stuck in a shallow relationship and repeating her mistakes (even if the guy she is warning Shallan away from is her nephew). A parallel between the two (potential) triangles is that Kaladin met Shallan first and he was the one to introduce her to Adolin (-ish, he showed her into the room in which Adolin and the high princes were): which is similar to how Dalinar introduced Navani to Galivar.
  4. I do not think Brandon Sanderson would let any of the other KRs have the Honorblade because it would essentially make them like Kaladin but also with the ability to draw on the other surges which come with their order, it would make Kaladin's powers pointless. If anyone will get the Honorblade I would expect it to be one of Kaladin's squires, the ones he gets as a Windrunner, or a different regular person. I do not think that Adolin will get the Honorblade as he does not seem to hold the same sense of honor as Kaladin has, and he uses Shardplate which is incompatible with Lashings and Windrunning.
  5. I do not know if this is good or bad for the Shallan/Kaladin ship, but Shallan seems to be similar to all of Kaladin's family in a small way. It has been said before on this thread that she is similar to his mother because they both enjoy wordplay and wit, but I do not know if the similarities have been pointed out for his father or for Tien. For his father, Kaldadin thinks that what she said was what his father always told him: (That was in the Chasm scene after he has gotten them lost. P.849) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- She is similar to Tien because she also can make Kaladin feel better when he is feeling depressed (also in the chasm scene, just after she smiled. P.850) She also cheered him up in the weeping when he is wearing the boots which she stole and returned EDIT: sorry, I accidentally submitted this too early
