  1. Ok, I remember that podcast. I don't know how this one slipped by me. Thanks for the help!
  2. Brandon has this as 3rd draft 100% on his website. Anyone know what this is?????
  3. I noticed this from Syl: "No. But Kaladin, you have to understand. With this sword, someone can do what you can, but without the ... check a spren requires." She touched it, then shivered visibly, her form blurring for a second. "This sword gave the assassin power to use lashings, but it also fed upon his Stormlight. A person who uses this will need far, far more Light than you will. Dangerous levels of it." page 1059 It seems that the forums have focused on the difference in efficiency in honorblade vs Nahel bond but that last sentence has stuck with me since me since i read it. I don't seem to remember anything referencing Stormlight being dangerous anywhere else. The only other use that seems to effect the user negatively is the soulcasters that Adolin sees that have stonelike skin but i feel we don't know enough to make a connection there. That could be from the fabrials or the prolonged use. Either way its creepy. Any thoughts on this?
  4. To me that doesn't work. The heralds were there before the knights to combat the desolations. So I would assume that the were the only surgebinders at that time. That would indicate to me that surgebinding and desolations are not related.
  5. Interesting theory...... I would have to think that it would depend on of he realized before the Recreance that surgebjnding was linked to the desolations. He could have made the connection afterwards then committed himself to making sure it never came back.
  6. I would have agreed after my first reading of WoK but time and a couple of rereads have me more interested. I would say she is still my least favorite of the main POV characters but I have faith in Brandon to make me more invested.
  7. I can just see the scene where Kaladin is on guard for Dalinor and Amaram comes walking in and they greet each other as old friends. Kaladin will probably be so angry that he may loose control and confront him then and there. That would be crazy intense. I don't see any other way that this comes to light as Kaladin doesn't seem likely to confide in anyone about the events that put him in slavery. Also in reference to it being justice for Kaladin to hold Amaram accountable for what happened, The first two ideals that we know about don't have anything to do with that so unless the next ideal is something along those lines I would anticipate Kaladin to have to find another way out of this rather than a direct confrontation.
  8. During Brandon's live writing event for worldbuilders he was doing a break with some quick fire Q&A and someone asked who was the most powerful non shardholder in the cosmere. He quickly said Hoid. Knowing that Brandon wont release the first draft of WoK until after book 5 because Hoid does something big in that first draft that would be a huge spoiler, I cant think that he is just a storyteller. I think Hoid is such an intriguing character and I can't wait to see what this big event is that gets pushed to book 5.
