  1. It seems to me that the Starfall vision of Dalinars clearly points out that Radiants lived through muliple desolations. "{Name} thinks the desolation is close, and he is rarely wrong" -Female Radiant in Starfall Vision(Paraphrased, and I can't remember the Radiants name.) The context of this states that he has probably, and in that case, accurately predicted Desolations before this one. (I'm at work and don't have my book, so if someone wants to look up the exact phrasing so we could look at it?)
  2. I might be able to agree with this threory for the below reasons. This is from the Eshonai Reading. The "Enormous Stalagmite" = The Tower City that is refrenced in TWOK as Urithiru. And the gate... and Oath Gate's remains perhaps? I know its all a long stretch. However, I think it is the best type of forshadowing. Details that really have a specific meaning, but on there own, and thown in as "imagery" and "painting a scene" Thats really good.
  3. I wasn't saying the Heralds were created or defined by Nohadon. I can't understand the miscommunitcation from my bad use of "They" though. That "They" is in reference to the Radiants. Nohadon as everyone claims, started or at least better defined the orders of the Knights Radiants. Than we have people say Jazariens Order and Nalans Order, and so forth. So is that just a forms culture thing? Or do people Really think Jazarien Headed the Windrunners. If he did, I have a very hard time buying that Nohadon started the Radiants and isn't a Herald. Why would this man be needed to start and define the Radiant Orders if the freaking King of the Heralds is the head of one of the orders? Do you get my meaning?
  4. My bad, spelling, never been very good at it haha.
  5. Its actually shallan second chapter of part 3. She is talking about soulcasting jade opal and marble for her family and mentions that you can't soulcast gems, that was said to be impossible.
  6. I just have a hard time excepting that the Heralds led the radiants, yet they were "created" or even "defined" by Nohadon. To me, either Nohadon was one of the Heralds, and was there from the first start of the oathpact. Or... something else. haha. I just don't see how The radiants could exist (And they clearly do, as Jez says "They have the radiants." 4,500 Years before the events of the book happen.) and not have been created by the Harolds/Honor/oathpact. I just have a hard time believing the Heralds and even more so Honor, could enter some Oathpact and not have created this order of knights to assist, if they had all the knowledge a God allegedly does... anyway, I just have a hard time buying the Heralds didn't create the orders they headed I guess. I guess we will all RAFO though right? haha Edit:Spelling
  7. Not to mention that it will probably be hard for a King to "handle things very very carefully" if he is a halfwit some days.
  8. Ok first of all I know that he is the author of The Way of Kings. Also that he lived a long time ago. However, I see alot of "theories" that he "started" or was the reason for the Knights Radiant? or some such? Yet we have in the prolouge that The Knights Radiant was headed by the Harolds, and were around when they broke the oathpact and left. Also that the harolds had been kings for some time. So, Is it understood that Nohadon became possible one of the Harolds before the Harolds were Harolds? and than founded the Knights Radiant? or I dunno. I'm just tyring to fit when the Harolds founded the Radiants and than Left, and when Nohadon really lived the part of his life that we see in Dalinars Vision. and when he wrote the Way of Kings and "founded the KR." Anyone have some helps? I've been trying to find stuff on here and the coppermind and haven't come up with much. Or are we all lost on these facts for now?
  9. Thanks Hoser. I did try to mention that I usually am on here while at work, so quotes are fully from memory. Thanks for clarifying, and that is a possiblity. Although, as Cortez shows above.
  10. I tend to agree with you here. Except things like this - "That chanting, that singing, those rasping voices" - Kaktach 1173, 16 seconds pre-death. A middle aged potter. Reported seeing strange dreams during highstorms during the last two years. Reminds me of the singing parshendi. And the other visions all seem to be describing damnation, voidbringers, odium, or at least a desolation. I do think that it won't be NEAR as simple as it may seem and however it is pulled off, it will blow our minds... Maybe they were the desolations, were bound by odium, but the Harolds "breaking" the oathpack also released the parshendi from his power?? I dunno. Just spitballing. Maybe Odium is the Parshendi "Gods" and he was controlling them and forced the oathpact on them. And so they don't want him to return because now they are free?
  11. He is refrencing after the person is dead. I don't remember were but it is stated that when living, yes the shardblade wont cut flesh, however, after the person is dead, it will cut flesh just like anything else, ie. like a hot knife through butter.
  12. I just wanted to put in my two cents that it is obvious (at leat to me) that the Parshendi are closer to Honor than Odium. Hence why they Honor their dead, and Eshoni (sp?) turns and salutes Kaladin, (or is it Dalinar?) after the Tower Battle. (I.E. Shows Honor to her Enemy.) Furthermore, both Kaladin and Dalinar comment on the honor shown by the Parshendi. All this however, begs the question of, "What about Jasnahs And Shallans findings that is leading them to believe that the Parshmen are the main source of the desolation?" I dunno, but I can't wait to find out.
  13. So, basically this is just looking for information/ speculation. I know its "common" knowledge that Shallan has a shardblade from several, almost blatent, thoughts of hers throughout the book. However, what I have a question about is when she got the shardblade. It seems obvious she obtained it after killing her father, specifically from killing her father. I have one issue with this. In her first memory of that night. She thinks to herself, “..Nan balant (Sp?) bruised and beaten, wet silvery blade in her hand, back pressed against the wall…” Or at least something close to that. I apologize, I’m at work and I don’t have the book with me. To me this is obviously just after she murdered her Father, and she backed away from what she had done, and she has the sword in her hand already. Furthermore, Later, when talking about the broken soulcaster, she mentions that the chain and one of the jewel casings was cut with a very fine, and clean cut. The only thing in Roshar that I know about that would cut through chain and metal in such a fashion is a shardblade. To me, these speak almost clearly that she had the shardblade before murdering her Father. Has anyone else thought, seen, guessed at this? I tried to look but couldn’t find anything before hand. Also, this brings into question as to why the soul caster was broken. Either, Luesh (sp?) the family steward either lied and didn’t need a soul caster, (like Jasnah and Shallan) or It really used to work. (Do we have more info that I haven’t found about Soul Casters? Are all Soul Casters just holders for stormlight and really they Soul Cast without it? I’m knew to all this theorizing, so I might be behind on some things.) If it really used to work maybe that is why it broke? the Shardblade broke it? The only problem with this “theory” is that in the drawing that Shallan draws of the scene, there is Blood on the carpet, and as we know…Shardblades don’t leave blood. Anyway, Let me know if i’m off base! =) Or if this is alreayd known info and I am just slow XD. Edit: Also, Shallan mentions in the fist time you hear about "the night" (when her dad died, as "reffrenced" above) That is the same night they discovered the soul caster and, if I remember correctly, she states its the same night it was Damaged.
  14. Greetings. I've read theories here and so on for quite some time. Finally decided to sign up and start posting. Excited to start exploring the cosmere with you fine ladies and gentlemen!
