(Steelhunt) Shadows of Self: Who Wrote Marsh's Book?
loganmathewjohnson replied to Oudeis's topic in Mistborn
Totally agreed on this one. -
Which power would you choose?
loganmathewjohnson replied to Straff Venture's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Definitely Surgebinding for me. I would have the powers of a Lightweaver. (Lightweavers have the inherent ability to Soulcast, btw) I LOVE Lightweavers. (If my profile pic didn't so indicate. ) -

Words of Radiance, 600 pages??? why why why
loganmathewjohnson replied to hbenhansen's topic in Introduce Yourself!
Note: Amazon no longer claims the book as 600 pages, instead citing the correct 1088. I remember when I saw that 600 page thing, I worried for two seconds before laughing and saying to myself: "Yeah, Amazon has NO IDEA what they're talking about on this one."- 23 replies

18 Metals, but 1/16th of Mistings were Seers?
loganmathewjohnson replied to Quazar87's topic in Mistborn
That's very true. Since ANYONE, not just... umm, Scadrians? is that right? Anyway, since anyone from any Shardworld can burn Lerasium, I would say that there is no such thing as a Lerasium Misting. That would make all the Selish and Rosharans Lerasium Mistings... And that just doesnt make sense. But yeah, I agree, there are no Lerasium Mistings. So... Atium can steal anything? Like, Biochromatic Breath? -
I have converted many a Sanderson fan to our cause... But in truth, I've had to accept that Sanderson is not good for everyone. For example, my best friend could never read epic fantasy. She prefers romance, and try as I might, I cannot get her to pick up a copy of Mistborn or Elantris (My best guesses for her, considering those lean more to Romantic than some of Sanderson's other works) But there is nothing I can do, because of the deep dislike of fantasy that has been instilled in her. But here's my idea: we get a movie made of Steelheart, or the Rithmatist. That will help convert many people who like to read, but just haven't experienced Sanderson genius yet... EDIT: Here's some advice from Georgia, where my brother is serving an LDS mission: "I break down the 8 metals of mistborn for them and explain that that is just the beginning of his worlds. People are usually pretty interested after that." So there ya have it, folks!!

Yep. I vote confirmed. I also vote Stewart as a fanboy. -
Claincy!!!! You are my HERO!!! I didn't realize the danger of high fantasy tropes until you said something. Anyway, the reason I used those tropes is because that was how the original manuscript was. Thank you for your edits. They are wonderful. My current project is set in a western civilization style, (Think AoL, but the characters have no magic- rather, some of the greater antagonists do.) I doubt I'll finish it before I leave to serve an LDS mission, but it is much more adult fantasy than Starslash. Starslash was essential in my writing career, however, and I definitely want to edit it to my satisfaction and order myself some free copies.

Long Game 1: In the Wake of the Koloss
loganmathewjohnson replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
My absolutely favorite part of the game was (For those of you who read the Spiked doc, you know this) looking and seeing that this game had sent my member rep all the way to Mistborn. I found it slightly ironic, and loved every minute! I agree, Kandra would be fun too, but kandra can't be allomancers.- 462 replies

Long Game 1: In the Wake of the Koloss
loganmathewjohnson replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Yeah, sorry you didn't have that good of a time, Darnam. I can DEFINITELY see where your stance comes from, but let me say this to everyone: There's no need to belittle or be harsh towards anyone. I for one, DID have a great time playing this game, and would LOVE to be included in future games. Guys, being a Spiked Mistborn was a lot harder than I would have thought. I couldn't be too flamboyant, lest I be killed, like some of the more vocal players. (I learned this early on when suspicion came on me for RP reasons) Shout out to Aether for being my favorite of my fellow Spiked. (Sorry Beetle and Clancy, but Aether's lists were a pure delight!!) Anyway, just cuz I'm curious, when will the next game be starting? And did anyone actually suspect me of being mistborn? I know there were people who thought I was Spiked... (Shoutout to Maill! I hope your previous post wasn't just Hindsight Bias) Lastly, Darnam, please refrain from calling the people we fooled 'Morons'. We got lucky killing Digits the first day, which made it significantly harder for them. I do acknowledge your concerns though, as things got pretty heated later on. Thanks for giving this game a try though! EDIT: This was my first forum based game... Best. Win. Ever.- 462 replies

Long Game 1: In the Wake of the Koloss
loganmathewjohnson replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
It's either me or Maill, it seems... Ironic, that the vote swings to him right after I suggest he's innocent. Well, maybe not ironic per se... I've always had issues with knowing what's ironic. Someone help me out. Anyway, my vote is on Maill. This vote is crucial. Here's to hoping we're right. If Maill IS Spiked, there's only one left, right?- 462 replies

Long Game 1: In the Wake of the Koloss
loganmathewjohnson replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Dyring, I'm trying to decide whether or not to vote for you. If I don't, will you leave me your Inn in your will?? Haha- aw, screw it. whole place is about to be Koloss infested anyway. *Logan sits back, re-reading his copy of Way of Kings, and watches Scadrial burn, weeping softly.* Not that I think it matters, since the odds are against him, highly, but I'll vote Dyring. (Sorry, I never really wanted the Inn anyway, and let me say for the record- you're probably innocent. But group thinking/peer pressure get the better of me. XD) Lets kill Maill next!! He's probably innocent too! Mat walks up to Dyring, looking him up and down. "Now mate," He says. "I know I voted against you, but is it too late for me to join you for a round of drinks or two? Or twelve?" At Dyring's harsh glare, Mat leaves the drunk man's presence quickly. "So, is that a maybe?" He calls as he leaves. "Some other time?" Outside of the Inn, Mat sees Aether, who is fervently working on a list. "Aether," he says. "Perhaps you can make a list of reasons why Dyring should give me free drinks? Or perhaps just a list of what he has, since the man is as good as dead anyway..." Mat walks away, muttering. "Dyring was right. We're all blasted fools."- 462 replies

Long Game 1: In the Wake of the Koloss
loganmathewjohnson replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
That awkward moment when you fall for some guy's argument just cuz he has a little more evidence, and kill someone else, and the first guy turns out to be innocent. This isn't quite like when I voted for Grayv... I was tryin to save my own skin, then. Genuinely sorry, Edgar. Thought for sure it was you. XD Well, actually, I was unsure, at first, but then I rescinded my vote for Beetle (A mistake I don't plan to make twice) and was CERTAIN you were the guy. I kinda wish the Spiked would kill me to take away the guilt. XD EDIT: Don't kill me. I was being dramatic.- 462 replies

Long Game 1: In the Wake of the Koloss
loganmathewjohnson replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@ Beetle: After much deliberation, I agree with your main point. The person we have the most evidence on is Edgar. So, to help avoid a Soother/Rioter deadlock, and in the hopes that someone else will vote, I am rescinding my vote and voting for him. (Edgar) Also, here's to hoping he's actually willing to REVEAL who was smoked on the first night... XD- 462 replies

Long Game 1: In the Wake of the Koloss
loganmathewjohnson replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@Darnam: Been thinking about what you said about knowing who to trust. Well, I myself am a Survivorist, and the words of the Survivor inspire me. While I am suspicious of you, I am MUCH more suspicious of Edgar, though the heat is off him momentarily. Trusting you to vote for him tomorrow, I vote Beetle. EDIT: I fear not what the Spiked may do to me for my vote. The Lady Heir shall deliver. I lived in Luthadel once, and the one thing I miss about that Ash-Stained city is that there are many more followers of the Survivor there. Glad to find one here. Edit II: Vote Rescinded- 462 replies

Long Game 1: In the Wake of the Koloss
loganmathewjohnson replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@ Darnam: For some reason, that doesn't ring true to me. You're asking people to trust you in a game where the point is to lie. To me, it seems like you're doing everything you can to delay Edgar's death, for at least another day. To me, that sounds like very Spiked reasoning. Sorry if I'm wrong, but at least for now, my suspicion is on you and Edgar... How much longer do we have to vote, exactly? EDIT: @dyring... That's an excellent point too. Dang. How long do we have to vote? Now I REALLY need to know.- 462 replies

So, I am an aspiring Fantasy writer, and a few people I know suggested putting my work here. There's a brief introduction on my site, but essentially it's a YA Fantasy novel I wrote for NaNoWriMo. Anyone who wants to read and comment, THANKS!!! Follow the instructions on the site. https://sites.google.com/site/starslashmark1 Or, for you fellow Sharders, you can leave your comments here. Thanks in advance to any helpers!

loganmathewjohnson replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I think that sounds like a good idea, and I don't think you're overstepping your bounds at all by offering the suggestion. That being said, unless the GM says otherwise, people should be able to do as they wish. And on that note, I'd like to say that while I'm truly flattered that Edgar decided NOT to vote for my death, his "band-wagon hopping" does seem slightly suspicious. XD It seems that there are some who are confused as to the meaning of 'Wanderer'. Allow me to set the record straight for those of you who do not know. It does NOT mean suspicious, as some are apparently thinking. It merely means "Scadrial's Most Eligible Homeless Roaming Bachelor."- 462 replies

I'll agree with Aether. Sorry Grayv, but somebody needs to die... I came back and a few people thought I should go. Haha. And I'd rather you than me. My vote is for you. Nothing personal against you, or drunk veterans anywhere. XD I do wish I'd had a little more time to decide, but I've been busy these last few days, and just got a look at the forums. EDIT: Correct me if I'm wrong, but we still haven't heard from Darnam... Has anybody else not cast a vote?- 462 replies

Long Game 1: In the Wake of the Koloss
loganmathewjohnson replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Mat stands up, drawing obvious attention to himself. "Regardless," He says, flourishing his cloak slightly. This was a man who wanted people to know he was there, before he faded back to the shadows. "You suggest we search amongst ourselves for these saboteurs? And what if there are none to be found? A possibility not discussed since our friend Aether introduced the idea. Are we to destroy ourselves before the Koloss do? "It reminds me of a village I saw not long ago, to the North, near Tathingdwen. By the time the Koloss arrived, half of the village was dead, and I myself had been chased out, my very life threatened. We simply cannot have ourselves killing innocents." Wherever I go, Mat thinks, sitting down, Excitement tends to follow. I thought I had found a place in the Final Empire that would be peaceful. I'm glad I was wrong.- 462 replies
