Is anybody getting a Szeth/Asmodean vibe?

It seems that on Roshar, actions have very direct consequences, i had always figured that breaking the Oathpact would have serious repercussions that the heralds didn't forsee, and that haven't been shown to us yet. I don't have the text with me but the exchange goes something like "it is time for the oathpact to end" and Kalak says, "what will that do?". I think the Oathpact was doing more than holding off the desolations.

Has anybody else drawn a conclusion between the curse/boon system and the new synopsis for WoR? "It is the nature of the magic. A broken soul has cracks into which something else can be fit. Surgebindings, the powers of creation themselves. They can brace a broken soul; but they can also widen its fissures" There seems to be a distinct give and take thing happening on Roshar. I think it's mentioned in WoK that Syl is taking something from Kaladin, but also giving something back.

Just a theory, but it could also be Honor. I think there is WoB on spren being Splinters of Honor. Could be also be Adonalsium though.

Happy to be given evidence to the contrary! I didn't think it would line up timeline-wise, i was at work, just had a random thought. I forgot about the recreance. I'd been lurking for too long though, thought i would put something forward. Nice to be welcome.

Hi guys, first time poster here. Has there been WoB on what happens physically, when a shard is splintered? I might be making a leap here, but maybe the shattered plains is where Odium splintered Honor, one of the previous posters mentioned that Brandon wrote on a map of the shattered plains "great magic unleashed here". Maybe splintering a shard causes some massive power-explosion for want of a better term, and that is why (other than obvious reasons) Odium's brief visit to Sel was so disastrous.
