  1. Did my annoying all caps and multiple exclamation marks get your attention? Good. Now, this could all be false, and it's just me who has forgotten the greatest holiday ever, but in my ten second scan of the site, I didn't see anything to contradict my belief that we have all missed it. Now, this is technically a TWG holiday, but Peter is Brandon's assistant, so I think we could celebrate it here as well (and since TWG is STILL down, I think we have no choice). The point is, we (meaning me, Myabi, Eerongal, aaaaand, some others who I can't remember (so sorry, beat me up later)) planned to have this holiday of holidays during the week of Peter Ahlstrom's birthday, which, if I remember correctly, is in November. I remember those sad days last summer, wondering if November would ever come, and now I've missed it! That holiday is, of course, Ookla the Mokival (name subject to change), the holiday in which everyone changes their name to: The (Fill in Adjective starting with "In" here) Ookla the Mok, in honor of our favorite RAFOer (or PANFOer, if you've listened to the interview). What are we to do?
  2. Some players use plain text because they don't know how to do fancy images And Lady Arianna, I've never done any sort of RP before (I started in one text one once, but quit soon after because it died), and I am loving this one. There's a real story going on here, and it's really getting quite epic! And if you put a little bit of effort in, it's surprising how quickly your characters can become entrenched in the storyline. I'd like to second (or third?) the point that it's writing practice. This RP has pretty much changed the whole way I write, plus I've made some of my best characters in it. This is an endorsement to everyone who read this: Mistborn: The Inquisition, is totally worth joining. And one more note: When the admins have suggestions: listen. They know everything that is going on in the story right now, and have pretty much seen it all when it comes to character applications. They know what works, what doesn't, and what's best for the RP. And your character will probably turn out better as a result of their help.
  3. But Vin wasn't able to change her weight. Yes, Duralumin was needed to push her that far, or that hard, but that's not what Munin is saying. He's saying, if you had the ability to change your weight, you could push OR pull anything. You could become light enough to pull yourself towards a coin, or heavy enough to push a car. This is evidenced in Sazeds fight with Marsh. Normally, Marsh pushing on Sazed's metal minds would send them both flying backwards. Because sazed tapped wieght, only Marsh was sent backwards faster than he expected to go, because instead of the force being divided between them forcing them apart, it was all concentrated on Marsh, because he was the only one moving. The force remained the same, but the effect was different because of the person's weight. I wonder somthing about these two magic system mistings: would they have to use the same metal for both?
  4. Brandon Interview Spoilers: He says that we've already seen a magic system being used in a different world than where it comes from.... My guess is this is it. I think they are disguising themselves with aons, or not Elantians. The Elantrian transformation is tied to the city aon, but it does not weaken like their powers do. If they are cut off from it completely, or the Elantris is damaged, they turn into leper style elantrians as evidenced in the old man. As for the aons, look at it this way: Aon Tia did not lose power as it was carrying raoden to teod, it carried him all the way. But then he could not use it to get back. I think it's the vicitinity to elantris when the aon is cast that matters. They could attach the illusion aon to their clothing, travel to Roshar, and still use it.
  5. If you ever wonder where Shiro goes when he is not causing problems online, I'm pretty sure he stays in my computer. Like his nest or something. It's really frustrating me.
  6. Going to far? Digging myself into a hole? Oh, and my favorite: Spilling things. My friends used to call me all spiller no filler, haha. That's probably the best one since there is a physical element to it.
  7. I noticed this on the first read through, but I remember Brandon saying something like that. In the end, i just ignored it. IT would have been very difficult to scratch a line into elantris, since it's paved, (isn't it?) I suppose.
  8. Ellen Page for Vin. No joke, all the way. She is my all time favorite actress, and, as long as she's not thirty by the time the movie comes out, she's almost perfect for the role (although, I admit her cheeks are a tad round). Summer Glau might be able to pull of competent book three Vin, but I can't see her first book skulking, urchin Vin. I can see Ellen Page in this role.
