  1. I'm glad someone snagged a video of some of this. I got a decent recording of the whole thing, but my phone died and deleted it.
  2. home.... And sleep

  3. I'm still here! Just busy with school. Too busy .
  4. Darn it! You beat me to making a Diclonius character. One thing about Diclonius is, aren't all Diclonius (aside from a few exceptions who as far as I know don't have vectors) female? Also, the male diclonius I've seen all are bald, while the females have pink/red hair. If Meadowlyn has a diclonios form, his hair should probably change as well. Now, this is just referring to accuracy in regards to what I've seen of Elfen Lied. Depending on what Silus thinks, you could make modifications for the Nexus RP. Good luck with your new killing machine
  5. Hot chocolate party sounds amazing! I am pleased to announce I have yet to get so lost I need help to get un-lost. Tien and Finality stopped by today to say hi, and Zas was helping us erect the keep last night. All have been very friendly, can't wait to meet more sharders!
  6. Good luck on your mission Silus! That's really exciting. I hope you have an amazing experience. As for Cuairr, I think you already seem to know more about what's going on with Nexus than I ever will, so I think it's obvious Silus made the correct choice in choosing you. On another note, about the brackets. In the two vs two matches, does that mean River and Eero will be on a team? I think that will be fun
  7. River: I am slightly disappointed. I thought our battle would be the end of me and Peter's interaction. One disadvantage of the spheremounts' safe guard and a rule against killing is your adversaries is that they can come back to haunt you. At least he isn't annoyingly drunk this time. "Peter," I say with a sheepish smile. What is there to say to a man whose insides I lit on fire recently? That it wasn't personal? "I'm glad to see you are recovering." I hold out my hand for him to shake, trying to be a good sport. "Good match."
  8. See, it's interesting because of all the theorizing that happened before book three. We called the earring and a few other things, including the bearing of the worlds' future on one's arms. (What's this? An original reaction I really do remember? No way!) Thing is, I knew Sazed should be the hero the whole time, but then right at the end, Brandon went and convinced me it really WAS Vin. Just when he had me hooked, he made the final reveal, and I was like: WHOAH!
  9. Do you have a link to where this information was confirmed I'm not sure if Davinna counts as a reliable witness.
  10. That makes me think. It says the two shards needed to team up in order to create sentient beings. Now was that because sentient beings require the power of at least two shards to be created, or just because Ruin and Preservation needed to stop opposing each other in order for such a creation to occur? The fact that we have other shard worlds with sentient beings and only one shard suggests the latter, but it's not clear of those shards were the only one's on the planet at the time of the creation of sentient life.
  11. My most recent reread was of book one for my world-related notes on the final empire. I'm disappointed I won't have time to reread them all before alloy . On another note, what's interesting reading them a second time for me, is I can't remember not knowing the twists were going to happen. For example, when Vin realizes the Lord Ruler is Rashek, I can't imagine ever thinking he was the one writing the log book. I also don't recall ever reading the book not knowing Kelsier's fate, or about Ruin's deceptions in later books. So, I suppose my initial read must have been better because of the twists, but I honestly can't remember it being any different then these subsequent readings in which I am constantly picking out new interesting tidbits and bits of foreshadowing.
  12. The line about Sazed confused me, until I realized you must be pronouncing his name differently than I do. Then again, I pronounce most fantasy names different from other people, so go figure. Interesting though, that you picked that version. The only other people I know who pronounce it that way are a few friends of mine.
  13. I'm pretty sure we can take this as fact. It seems pretty clear to me that that is who they are (since they really are faceless and can't die of old age, they fit the bill pretty well I think). I also think it's pretty much certain that Marsh is iron-eyes (that's his nickname even pre Final Empire), though you can feel free to dispute that 'theory' if you wish.
  14. Okay... I'm to lazy to find all the quotes I wanted to respond to in this topic (it's three pages), but here are my observations: 1. Vin finds the Inquisitors harder to control than either the Kandra or the Koloss: This difference could be because Vin never tries to control inquisitors until after Ruin is free. It might also be because an Inquisitor has more sentience than a koloss (and possibly even more than a kandra, since they are human originally) and that makes them harder to control, despite the spikes. I'm not sure how I feel about this, but I think it's pretty clear that for Ruin Inquisitors were the easiest to control, while for Vin they were the hardest. What this means for the Lord Ruler, I don't know. 2. The Lord Ruler being more powerful than Elend: I agree that savantism, decline of allomantic power in the population, and hemalurgic/feruchemical combinations made the Lord Ruler more powerful than Elend. However, I don't think it is impossible for the well to have had an effect on him. Vin didn't use the power, but Sazed (in a much greater capacity than even the Lord Ruler) did. With the power, Sazed was able to make spook a mistborn. Though he had more power than the Lord Ruler (having two shards in their entirety after all), we know the Lord Ruler was able to do similar things while holding the power (like moving a planet). If Sazed can make a mistborn, I think, while he held the power, the Lord Ruler would have been able to increase a mistborn's power. Because of this, I don't think we can say the Lord Ruler didn't USE the power of the well to increase his allomantic strength. I'm not saying anyone who uses or holds the power is made more powerful. I'm saying that the power could be intentionally used to make someone more powerful. I hope that distinction is clear, since most of the arguments against this seem to be using Vin's holding of the power as evidence. EDIT: Also, the epigraph says the Lord Ruler's BASE allomantic strength was something the original allomancers had. We know he wasn't including savant-strength or hemalurgic enhancements. He might have left other power-ups out as well with the 'base' distinction. The Lord Ruler was also able to use his power to conquer the world. I'm not sure if Elend (because without a boost, back then the Lord Ruler likely wouldn't have time to become a savant in everything yet) would be able to do what he did, even if he had the only allomancers in the world on his side and was a feruchemist. It's debatable anyways.
  15. River: I nod to Gustav. A little dinner sounds good about now. I still haven't eaten since breakfast. With a Spherematch thrown into the mix, I realize I'm starving. "I'm not too arrogant to take good advice when it comes," I say with a smile. "I'll look forward to meeting with you again." With a friendly wave, I walk away, moving towards the dining area. When I get there, I do a quick survey of the place, looking at how people are reacting to each other, and keeping an eye out for Piscun or Jezebel. I take note of the power dynamics in the room, hoping to seat myself with the people who look the most influential.
  16. Welcome Sylent! One thing I thought I would mention. Now, we are RPing in Nexus, so I'm not sure what all the rules are, but in real life, a human being is only capable of being completely fluent in up to seven or eight languages. Now, they might have some knowledge of others, but fluency in a higher number is impossible, because they start to get jumbled and the memory can't hold that many. Plus, if even if someone could know 200 hundred languages, they likely wouldn't speak most enough to keep them. (My friend Jezreel was only bilingual, and he's been losing his English steadily ever since he returned to Taiwan). Now, like I said, we aren't RPing in the real world. If Meadow has a magical or technological means of knowing these languages, then I'm sure it works (I'd assume there is a magic element since he is able to talk to animals, haha). I just wasn't sure since the 'how' of his multi-lingual nature isn't shown in the app. On another note... I might not be around much guys. School is hitting me pretty hard right now, and I'm still trying to organize everything for my trip to the alloy release. I'll try my best to post and will continue to keep up with the story, but don't hold your breath. I'm having trouble keeping up on MBI as well, and since I have a more prominent position there I have to put it first.
  17. Hey... The Shardic Nuns wouldn't happen to be from ally, would they? At first I thought they were your own creation, but then, from the six chapters I read, they sounded vaguely alloy-ish so I thought I would check.
  18. River: My eyes widen when I hear the price. It would take the better part of my families entire fortune to purchase the Dynamic Overdriver, and I only managed to walk away with whatever I could carry. With one last hungry look at the Overdriver, I tear my gaze away, knowing I'm only torturing myself. There's no way I could lay my hands on it without stealing, and Gustav is not someone I'd want to steal from without an air tight plan. Now that he seems to have forgiven my behavior, I need to stay in his good books, and can't afford to risk his displeasure. "I'll try to work on my attitude," I say. "You can't help how you were raised, right?" My sisters would be laughing at me now. Their pride would never have allowed them to give in as I am now. No doubt, they would accuse me of lowering the status of our house with my behavior. The jokes on them though, for my house is gone and I remain. Robin would have been proud of me. At least, she would have claimed to be. I never know what to think about her, for I cannot tell how much of her personality was a sham. She betrayed you, I remind myself. I need to forget about her if I'm going to move forward. If I need to forget, why can't I? I focus on the situation at hand, not wanting to dwell on the past. "I should have trusted you when you said it was out of my price range." I pause, considering for a moment and then continue. "I'm still interested in acquiring some sort of fuser or evolver? If you don't have any in stock, do you know where or how I could find one and how much it might cost me? As long as it doesn't remove me from the tournament, I'd even be willing to work to acquire one. With everything that's going on, I won't have much time to learn a new sphere, so I'd rather improve on what I already have if possible." After a moment, I remember one last question. "Do you know if it is possible to combine more than two forms?"
  19. It's Mistborn: The Inquisition, the 17th shard Mistborn RP. If you want to check it out, click the link at the top, or just click the picture in my sig (which features 8 of my twelve characters... kind of need to update it and find pictures for my two obligators).
  20. If I ever do end up making a second character, she'll be female. She and her sphere-set are actually already bubbling around in my head. We'll see if she ever gets made though... I already have a lot of commitments over at MBI (What... since when is my character count there 12?), so I'm trying to slow down with the character creation for a while until I have things under control.
  21. Hahaha, I was wondering if this one would come up. You know, if it weren't for certain time and space issues (as well as some other things) I'm sure Kardin and Sanna could be very happy together (although, I think Sanna might get bored of Kardin... he's kind of shy, and Sanna isn't exactly the patient type). Great work on the upgrades Kerry!
  22. So, I don't know much about the in game currency. As a noble whose been hunting treasure and looting places for the last few years, how much money do you think it would be reasonable for River to have? In my mind he's fairly well off at this point. He took a decent amount when he fled, and his funds have grown since then. Since I have no idea if he should be able to buy the Dynamic Overdriver, I thought I would ask you.
  23. River: Garson Gustav... How is it I spend all day looking for powerful friends, only to offend the first one I find because I mistake him for a simple shop-keep? Wait a minute... What is Garson Gustav, ruler of a international spheretech empire, doing peddling his own wares? I would assume he is lying, but somehow I doubt it. Garson Gustav is not exactly a name you can steal and expect to get away with it. The question remains, what is he doing here playing the cashier? Out in the real world, someone like Gustav would have underlings to oversee the underlings who check in on the ones who run the shops. True, this many Speremounts gathered in one place is bound to be an unparalleled business opportunity, but that still doesn't explain why Gustav isn't rubbing elbows with the higher ups, leaving his shop to a trusted assistant. For what seems like the hundredth time I wonder who in the world is running this thing, and how much power they have. I realize I've been silent, paralyzed by embarrassment and mortification. "Please, you must accept my apologies, Master Gustav." I pause, unsure of what to say next. This man is definitely one I would rather have for a friend than an enemy, and he's crafty enough to see through anything but the truth. "I thought you were a shop keeper. I would have never expected someone of your standing to mingle in companies like this. Now, of course it makes sense. A shrewd business man like yourself would never leave such an opportunity in the hands of someone who might mess it up." Careful with the flattery. Too much, and he'll laugh in your face. I try my best to be sincere. I know I've messed up, and now I need to fix things, fast. "I've behaved horribly, but I'm still very interested in the Dynamic Overdriver. How much is it worth? If it's out of my price range, and your willing to forgive me, I'd like to buy you a drink or dinner, to make it up to you." I hate the position I am in. I glance to either side, hoping no one else is witnessing my humiliation. "I really am sorry," I say, lowering my eyes respectfully. Please let this situation be salvageable. I know I can't afford to miss out on this opportunity.
  24. River: I take note of the man's sarcasm, and notice him eying my hair. Although the heat was travelling out of my body, it seems it still managed to singe, and even the lightest of burns shows up on platinum blond. I resolve to give myself a quick trim as soon as possible. "The singeing is intentional," I say, wanting to clear things up. "A little burnt hair is a small price to pay for setting a man on fire from the inside, wouldn't you think?" His patronizing attitude angers me, but I force myself to stay calm. There are very few things I hate more than being made to feel like I'm inferior. "I take back what I said about talent," I saw as my lips twist with distaste. "Do all your customers take kindly to being abused?" My instincts tell me to storm off and find another vendor, but my curiosity gets the better of me. With a black mage as a base, this sphere could be more my style. "Tell you what, I'll give you another chance before I take my business elsewhere. I confess, I'm more familiar with using spheres than identifying them. My gentlemans' education did not include 'Dynamic Overdrivers'. Give me your best pitch, and we can forget about this little argument. Then I won't be forced to tell everyone I meet how dissatisfied I was with your service."
  25. Hey Silus, River checked the bracket on his way to the store. It's fine you didn't address it in the post, but I'd still like to know who River fights next and when.
