I think that Allomacers can adjust their pushes, so if Zane pushes right below him, he'd start up but there's also this falling thing, and if he can push only that hard as not not fall and constantly, he'd be able to pull the stunt. And we know Zane had extra-boost to his steelpushing resulting in the precision.
