  1. It's been 11 years since I left for college and 5-6ish years since my dad Glenn Siler stopped working at Proctor & Gamble, and yet it still make me twitch to see that my husband bought Skippy peanut butter instead of Jif.

  2. I am so super stressed. I have no idea what to do about Michaya. We followed the doctor's instructions and it's gotten WORSE not better. I don't know how I can be constantly cleaning her up when the baby is nursing all the time and I certainly don't know how we are going to deal with a 10-12 hour car drive on Thursday if this persists.

  3. It's a good year for dead bad guys: Kim Jong Il just bit the dust. http://t.co/pYgitZ0d

  4. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is pretty much the best Christmas movie ever.

  5. Amused by the random crap you can add to your FB timeline.

  6. TODAY IS REALLY THE 15TH. Kaladin is both 3 months old AND 13 weeks old. LOOKS LIKE I'M BI-WINNING.

  7. Dear Kaladin, I appreciate your healthy weight gain, particularly after your brother's tinyness, but right now is REALLY not the best time for a growth spurt. >.

  8. Hurray for cookies! I was Corrienda.
  9. Kaladin is 3 months old today! He weighs about 13 pounds (it took Rigel 6 months to get this big) and he keeps making noises at me like he wants to chat. He eats lots but has at least one good 4 hour stretch at night of sleeping.

  10. Snoooooooooow...

  11. Soooo on a related note, do I need to be doing crunches or whatever to help shrink my tummy? I mean, scale says I've lost 20 pounds in the last 3 months but there hasn't been much change in my pant size. I'm thinking that maybe I need to do something more than just nursing and stair running.

  12. I get the feeling I haven't been cooking enough - Thalia just asked Orion if meatloaf was real...

  13. My DA account All World of Warcraft fan art and fanfic at the moment. >.>
  14. I feel sorry for parking lot vultures who don't realize I have to change and feed the baby before I can go.

  15. I never know what to say in these things. HI, I'm Elizabeth. I used to be over at Adonalsium.net but the site imploded this year, so I'm here to connect with other Sanderson fans. I don't tend to be super active on forums these days, but whatever, I'll introduce myself anyways. I live in Utah, about 20 minutes from Brandon. We were at BYU at the same time, and he's actually a friend of a friend, and I keep thinking that if I had gone to that one thing that one time, maybe I'd actually know him. Whatever - I'm just happy that I live close enough to go to all the release parties and signings. It was nice to meet some of you 17th Sharders there at the Alloy of Law release party! My favorite of Brandon's works is the Way of Kings - I'm so incredibly excited for the rest of the series to come out. The book just had SO MUCH in it - not just the story, but all the worldbuilding and connection with the cosmere. I love it! All the books are awesome, though, and I seriously can't wait for the Mistborn RPG to be out. The video game too - that's going to be AMAZING. I graduated BYU in 2004 with a degree in Linguistics (so there's an "almost" for the Incalculable Peter Ahlstrom too ) and Near Eastern Studies. Now, I'm a stay-at-home mom of four - twin 6 year old girls, a 3 year old boy, and 3 month old Baby Kaladin. My husband, Orion, is a software developer and also a Sanderson fan. It's super fun to have someone to geek out to about the books. I enjoy reading all the crazy cosmere theories here and discussing them with him. Our other major hobby for the last seven (!) years is World of Warcraft. It's something fun we can do together without having to pay for a babysitter. My major love for the game, though, is roleplaying. I love killing internet dragons as much as the next girl, but it's super fun to come up with stories for my characters and interact with other people's characters. My favorite is probably the hyperactive narcoleptic gnome warlock who relies on her demons to keep her awake. It's also easy inspiration for art and writing. I also like Michael Jackson, D&D, board games, chocolate ice cream, Star Trek, skiing, and fuzzy sweaters. And now I don't know what else to say, so HI!
  16. Baby Kaladin & I should be at the signing on the 17th, so I'll pick a couple things to ask him. Anything specific I should ask, or should I just pick my favorites?
  17. Was just reading through the list of questions, and one that I once asked but is not on there - I had asked him if humans and horses were native to Roshar, since everything else seems to be all crustacean-like. He said, "whoa, good question" and then told me RAFO. Does anyone have backups of Adonalsium.net or know the site admin or something? I had a couple other good questions I had asked and then posted the answers to there, but the site evidently imploded or something.
  18. I love that with enough creativity, anything can be a gospel lesson, even Salt Lake City's gross wintertime air.

  19. According to the girls, someone who steals stuff is a "feeth." (They get their "f" and "th" mixed up all the time.)

  20. I had thought that nursing was primarily responsible for my postpartum weight loss, but it occurred to me that running up and down the stairs every 10 minutes each day was probably a significant factor as well. In related news, I really need to get a contractor over here to give me an estimate for installing a bathroom in the laundry room.

  21. Color me impressed: People magazine used more pages for their story about soldiers coming home from Iraq to be with their families than they did for even their cover story.

  22. Kaladin has started making noises - not wailing "FEED ME NOW" noises, but cooing, "Hey, I see you're looking at me - let's chat" noises. It's so awesome. :)

  23. New phone, getting all my ringtones loaded.

  24. Man, I'm totally fail at mail-getting when it's cold outside.
