The edgedancer oaths. Remembering the forgotten, listening to the little guys. I'm my family's kin keeper. I get along with little kids, people tell me things. It doesn't hurt they they are SA's clerics, there is a reason I always default to playing cleric class characters in RPGs etc. Lift doesn't top my favorite character lists ever, but I love getting glimpses of other edgedancers. (I don't mind Lift, and I really enjoyed the 'Edgedancer' novella, she's just not high on my list). I think the coolest orders are lightweavers and windrunners, but they definitely don't fit who I am.

Pattern absolutely counts. He's mine too. As for least favorite, other than the one we're supposed to hate, I was often SO BORED of Dalinar, pretty consistently throughout the series.

So, did audiobooks for the Stormlight books (I've read through WaT, so spoilers) Is my brain making this up or is it a thing? In general I'm trying to find references to optic tech in Roshar. Help? (I know that astronomy isn't really a thing that Rosharans do, necessarily)

I've done all the Stormlight archive and the shorts related to that, the first Mistborn, and am halfway through well of ascension and sunlit man. Skimmed Rithmatist and the first Alcatraz before the kids read them. Eventually I'll get through more, but I'm rationing/slow by doing it via audiobooks. I don't have a ton of spare reading time. I've only been a Sanderson reader for about a year. Stormlight archives is an instant easy answer: Pattern. I very much would not be a Lightweaver, but he is my favorite. I really spend more brainpower than I should on the sketch of the running cryptic. They are definitely the coolest spren type IMO. Yes! I actually play the big four, in order of skill level: Violin, viola, bass, cello. My kids each play a different one, so I have had to learn along with them (they all started young). That's where my luthering dabbling come in too. Being able to do bridges, soundposts, other minor repairs saves so much money when you have students in string lessons. I like the violin best, but the bass is growing on me. Some of my favorites (like Misty Mountains) need those low voices to sound their best. They play orchestral and folk/celtic/bluegrass but I stick to session/folk/americana most of the time. What do you play?

Since I joined a forum. But I'm on here constantly looking stuff up so... I like books. Old books, big books, small books, kids books. Books that don't say nice things. Books that say beautiful things. Books that are fiction. Sometimes I make myself read nonfiction. I married an engineer so he can fix the things I break. I find the things he loses. I like things with strings that make sound when you rub them with hair. I am trying to learn how to fix them to make them make sound again. Ex-professional chef, so any cooking thing I can do. I like foraging and eating wild things. I have four kids, too many chickens, and am in my forties. Yo, I'm old, get off my lawn. The chicken in the picture was named Eyebrow and she was amazing. (RIP. Stormin foxes) I "read" the Stormlight Archive as audiobooks while doing chores and have no idea how to spell anything. I am reading the 1st era mist born the same way because I have the bad(?) habit of using time I should be sleeping to read. My kids are reading the Rithmatist and Alcatraz. Ursula LeGuin is my favorite writer now. Jack London was my first and forever favorite. I re-read books over and over if I love them.
