An even bigger cat

Hello, also new here, I was reading through the rules and had a question about the board layout: Is it meant to just be played on an open table, or with a drawn grid or smtn. Because when the characters are moving or when players are placing terrain, do they just guestimate the distances for each grid, especially when some terrain cards are in different orientations. Other than that, this looks very good, and would love to watch this develop even more.
