Okay.. so I kinda wondered, what about poetry about (abstractly or otherwise) athiesm/lack of faith?

Or even a fascination with religion as a concept, or the cultural aspect.

I'm waiting for Chaos' go-ahead for my poem, he says he forwarded it to staff.

I responded about Ketek's particular poem, but in general, keep in mind that 17th Shard has a wide range of believers and nonbelievers. Christian, LDS, so many different denominations and religions, pagans even. Then there are many agnostics, atheists, but that also has a wide variety of what that means. I would encourage people to take care to be respectful in this. If the message of such poetry would be a thing that isn't allowed if it was in prose, maybe let's not. If you're advocating for a belief or non-belief, let's not. Is this a fuzzy area? Yes! I think the contents of what someone is doing matters, and I think the context also matters.

So is religious poetry allowed? It is certainly not restricted, but take care. There are some things that feel more appropriate in, say, a Facebook post to one's specific friends rather than publicly to all here.

I think if people are talking about their own experience with faith (or lack thereof), that is probably fine. The General Religion thread has been fine. We do reserve the ability to shut specific things down if things get heated, as always.
