  1. Which is effectively Honour's, Cultivation's, and Odium's magics as of the Stormlight Archive, which complicates things. For all we know Odium's touch on things makes them interact with the focus in a different way than Honour's does.

Or perhaps Parshendi don't need to use a focus because they're not actually using the Spren to do magic as it's normally done on Roshar- rather the Spren is filling a coginitive hole in their being similar to how a Spike functions for Kandra, and the Spren is using stormlight to enact a physical change based on what type of Spren they are.

I'm still rather undecided on what's going on and would like more info.

so spren would be like a metal filtering investure
  2. I do not think the fourth oath has to do with protecting. The properties of the Windrunners are protecting and leading.

I think the latter two oaths have to do with leading. We know that squires are an important feature of Windrunners, and think many of his future powers are going to be squire-related. Hence leading.

Next two oaths may be a way to consciously bond squires
  3. We know that one of the functions of buring Lerasium is to make someone a Mistborn, and everything I've seen assumes Feruchemy can be gained in a similar way (so forgive me if someone else has already thought of this). What if Feruchemy is gained not through burning but through tapping?

Perhaps Lerasium*, or an alloy or it, or some other (god) metal carries a Feruchemical charge which can be drawn by anyone on Scadrial, and which when drawn makes you a Feruchemist?

Or perhaps, fitting even further with the nature of Feruchemy, just as burning Lerasium fits with the nature of Allomancy, it requires first a Feruchemist to store their Feruchemy in the metal. They are weakened in the short term (or permanently) in order to create a Feruchemist.

    Thoughts?

*I realise that Feruchemy is the power of balance between Ruin and Preservation, and Lerasium is only Preservation... the reason I suggest here it might be only Lerasium is because Lerasium has the "rewrite Spiritual-DNA" ability. This is just a possibility, as is the possibility a "Sazedium" is the key... obviously I'm leaving the metal open here, and am more interested in the idea that a Feruchemist-wannabe has to tap something, rather than burn something to ascend.

Maybe feruchemists arises from inherent extra ruin & preservation investure from living in such close proximity to divine energies. & occred when the terris people started "snapping".

Another thought i had was through hemulgary with a lesarium spike. But the victim would also be the receiver.

  4. Personally, I considered WoK to be like a fine prime rib. WoR came off more as a filet mignon.

Very good, but a little lighter and not quite as thick and flavorful.

On the topic of Szeth, remember that his current arc of actions was explained by Hoid in "Wandersail". In the next book, he's going to do something really, really, really bad. Absolutely awful. I'm scared to see what'll happen.

Imo wandersail describes szeth & the alethi who's god is dead
  5. Well, think about it. The thing weakens drastically upon reaching Shinovar, yet it's always at full force when it returns. It implies, even if there is only one storm, that there is something that pumps the force up at every cycle. So Stormfather can probably manipulate them directly.

He could be making a second storm, or maybe whatever it is he does at the origin just doesn't normally happen during the Weeping on light years. And the "storm" is actually still in motion.

Just babbling really. What I'm now wondering is what keeps the Everstorm going after it passes Shinovar's mountains from the opposite direction.

The Origin is in shinovar maybe

  6. Spikes transfers identity from person to person, and alter preexisting . Feruchemy copies or stores specific identity attributes and also the larger identity of the feruchemist acts as a lock on metalminds. I would imagine the bones of mistwraiths developing an identity to the animal the longer it held those bones. However creating wraiths & kandra would involve making their cognitive and physical identities more malleable.

my question is can kandra breach metalminds?
