  1. I use HTML/JS the most, just because I've known it for the longest and I'm most skilled at it. And it's also super easy to host.
  2. No It relates to how if you double all the side lengths of a cube, the surface area quadruples, but the volume octuples. Volume always grows faster than surface area, which is true for any 3D shape, though different shapes will have different ratios. This has implications everywhere in biology.
  3. So I've been travelling a lot recently, which means more time spent listening to audiobooks. I finished Project Hail Mary, The Eye of the World, and Shadows in Flight. Project Hail Mary Really liked this one, it is good hard sci-fi with a well-developed protagonist. The Eye of the World This one was... alright. It felt really slow, and kind of like the Black Prism in some ways, expect there were no Moraine POVs to explain the magic system, so I feel a lot more in the dark as to what's happening. I shall be continuing to read the rest of WoT though, as the lore feels really deep and I want to know more. Also what'll happen to the characters going forward. Shadows in Flight I have been stretching the Shadow Saga for almost a year now I think. I read all except Shadow of the Hegemon as audiobooks. It is... interesting, though I mostly keep reading/listening to these books because I want a resolution, and I want to see what goes on in the Last Shadow, since Children of the Mind didn't feel resolved enough.
  4. Episode 8... climate zones, I believe The Hybognathan is a descendant of the semi-aquatic Deinognathans from Episode 7 The Square Cube Law is indeed everything.
  5. I need this, even though it's probably just going to be the two of us @ChipsAHoid Tira 292b! Also the last living Synischian...
  6. Starseeker, New Hallandren, Unnamed street near the explosion Starseeker jumped, reflexively drawing stormlight when he heard the deafening boom. Even with Perfect Pitch and stormlight healing, it took a few seconds for his ears to regain functionality. Starseeker looked around and saw pillars of fire rising into the sky, with smoke billowing out and obscuring the sun. He stood there frozen for a moment. "Life before death," he whispered. "Life before death," he said again more firmly. Breathing in more stormlight, he broke into a sprint, turning this way and that with the streets towards the explosion. Some of the onlookers stopped fleeing the blast to stare at him. Some cried stuff about foreign magic, but Starseeker ignored them. His jaw dropped when he saw the crater. Nothing remained. No corpes, no debris, no nothing. The ground was still so hot he could feel it through his boots. He tore his gaze away from the sight and focused on the area surrounding the crater. Buildings were reduced to burning piles of rubble. Blessedly, it looked like this area had been abandoned since there weren't any people - alive or dead - that he could see. Starseeker approached on of the destroyed building and slipped halfway into the Cognitive Realm. @Akimikoisthecutest
  7. Well, I guess I should make a 2025 reflection post too.

For me, it was a great year. I finished the Cosmere in May, after starting it proper in December 2024, and I would relive 2025 just so I could read it again for the first time.

And not to mention joining the Shard and meeting all you wonderful people. I'm drained right now - I've been travelling the whole day - so I'll mention folks tomorrow when I have a lower chance of missing a bunch of people.

I hope ya'll had a good 2025, and even if you didn't, well, there's a good chance 2026 will be better

  8. From the album: KaladinsSenseOfHumourSpren's Pixel Art

Experimenting with animating Allomancy. I'll do more of these, with iron, houses to jump onto, and maybe a mistcloak if I can get it looking right.
  9. If I were to make you choose Between the lives of your men and crew Or your own Why do I think they'd lose?
  10. Starseeker, New Hallandren, ??? Starseeker emerged from his room on the upper story and gracefully descended the flight of stairs, which looked like someone had dumped several buckets of paint in varying colours. He careful not to hit his head on anything; this building wasn't made to accommodate someone with the height of a Returned. Downstairs, his landlord - a man by the name of Kraril - was preparing breakfast. Kraril glanced over his shoulder as Starseeker approached, his eyes lingering on the pouch of spheres Starseeker carried at his waist. Starseeker was still not used to the fact that no one worshipped him anymore. Sure, it made sense for Rosharans who'd never even heard about Returned before to not address him as 'Your Grace', but other Hallandren? It wasn't that he liked being worshipped, but it was odd nonetheless. Starseeker set an infused diamond broam as payment. Kraril grumbled something about worthless foreign currencies, and Starseeker headed out into the streets of New Hallandren.
