Ferences rummaged in his cloak, eventually drawing out a shard of glass. “This,” He said. “Is the most unique artifact you could ever wish for. Sand, centuries old, taken by a quester from the east and specially forged in flames hot enough to heat a castle through the harshest winters.” He’s technically not lying, it’s a shard of glass he took from a window he broke in though two miles East from here

Ferences snapped his fingers. “See I knew you had it in you. You, Miss Cerouge, being the nice young lady you are, helped a man in need of assistance. And I too am a man in need of assistance and I’d be delighted if you joined me.”

OH MY GOSH THAT’S SO DARK Ferences winced. “I’m sure he was just having a bad day in general. But have you concerned sometimes people should be upset? The person who drives you away from your home, the one who tries to stab you, the one who kicks you out of your home and takes the cat in the divorce? Those people deserve to be permanently borrowed from.”
