    So, I was just at the Orem B&N signing, and I asked Brandon if burning copper or wearing an aluminum hat would affect subliminal messaging. His answer? (Paraphrased) "It would only affect it if it were through Cosmere-based means, and even then it would be of dubious effectiveness." Thoughts?

    Well, it was a fairly large crack in the ground, but it was the worst possible vantage point. I'll keep those in mind. (Isn't there a LDS Temple in Tuscon? I know there's one somewhere around there.)

    Just didn't work out. :/ We hiked like half a mile and there was a crack in the ground and that was it. I think we just got lost or picked a bad spot to hike around in.

    I still kinda have a grudge on your state after I "visited" the Grand Canyon but wasn't able to see any of it, which was made ten times worse by the fact that you don't do Daylight Savings, so I was starving for an extra hour.

    Welcome! Have you read The Alloy of Law, Shadows of Self, and Bands of Mourning yet? They're set in the Mistborn world, just a few hundred years later.

    You got it pretty good, actually. What I probably should have done is clarified my question to Brandon with a follow-up about whether density influences Allomancy. Heck, I can ask him to clarify on Tuesday if you'd like.

    If you look at it as "it would burn longer than another bead of lesser density would," no, I don't think so.

    Confirmation! I asked Brandon at LTUE today, and he said something like "Yes, you would be able to burn [the denser bead] longer." I take this to mean that the dense bead would have the same burn length as the original-density block.

    IN TODAY'S NEWS I went to LTUE! I was only able to attend two panels, but they were both very instructive. In regards to Owl City: anyone heard Mobile Orchestra yet? And yesterday iTunes had a discount for Coldplay albums. So I now have the full set.
