So when a shardblade kills it burns the eyes of the person, because it hits the "soul". In the end of WaT, Kaladin is found with burnt out eyes when he acends as a herald. Is this the body's natural reaction when the connection between the "soul" and the body is severed or could shard blades be doing something more than we suspected?

And you're saying that the full description given "the figure he couldn't quite make out" definitely can't be used to describe a high spren?

General Relativity and Anti-investiture

But by using the spiritual realm as a wormhole by the Seon, as it is a closed system it isn't possible for a listener c to exist And even if it is the soonest that a listener c would hear the information is the same as responder b As the distance between A, B and C is considered zero -
By the end mosh will have thoroughly convinced himself he is also a stick

Isn't that just Kaladin? Soldier in kholin blue No there are 3 people mentioned, Soldier in kholin blue A figure he couldn't quite make out A woman with blue-white hair So syl and Kaladin are obvious, But the 3rd can be Nales spren A high spren is basically a figure, a figure made out of stars in the night sky Basically we don't have enough information but we don't have anything to disprove kalaks supposition

General Relativity and Anti-investiture

So just to explain my idea of how the communication could work. Basically the comprehension of the message on receipt is limited by the receivers ability to process information (P) and as this is the seon on both sides we can assume this is equal, we can also make the assumption that the transmission speed is limited by the same value (P). For any transition to work the transmission speed (Pt) has to be less than the receiver speed (Pr) with the best result being they are as close to equal as possible. If they are moving over planes which are moving at different rates the transmission is sped up or slowed down by that factor (v). So Pt<=Pr And when moving to the other plane Pt'=Pt*v This can lead to the case where Pt' is too large and is greater than Pr, and as such Pt' needs to be reduced. The easiest way to do this is for the transmitter Pt to be reduced by v before transmission. So Pt' =Pta*v=(Pt/v)*v This all works under relativity without requiring ftl. -
Could be I vaguely remember a thing about stormfather being made from the wind so it would track

I thought the strange person mistaken for a highspren was a tall woman coloured blue, isn't that syl in their new stormqueen form?

General Relativity and Anti-investiture

Nitpicking, that's like saying the existence of a phone in story is not compatible with relativity. There are ways by defining the communication that it can still work under relativity. I'd agree it is possible it is breaking relativity but we don't actually know. My point is there are ways we see everything that is happening now without ftl and relativity remaining intact. -
General Relativity and Anti-investiture

And at which point is it arrived at that speed? At each point in the relevent plane it is acting at the speed of thought which is definitionally less than the speed of light in a vacuum, just because one plane is acting in a speed greater than the other does not mean they are acting faster than the speed of light -

But that wouldn't be affected with the spiritual realm as it is effectively "outside" of time. The Seon would still have to slow or speed up the "recording" but they are not transferring information at ftl speeds, they are just using a shortcut -

I thought the Seon worked through access to the spiritual realm? As the spiritual realm has no time or space it would basically act like a wormhole between two points right? Effectively making the distance zero -
No? Retributions viewpoint mentions he feels both odiums drive to satisfy it's emotions and honours drive to fulfil obligations, they are still separate on some level. The "new intent" is completely Taraviangian The same way that the intent from harmony is completely Sazed Tbh I'm not sure the point you're trying to make, mate?

I saw a thread here talking about the 4 dawnshards being used to divide adonolsium into the shards and the influence of the four dawnshards causing the various intents of the shards. The idea the intents only came from the dawnshards didn't seem right to me and I noticed in W&T honour referred to the "4 aspects of adonolsium" as a holy number. Could the intents of the shards be based on a combination of the dawnshards and adonolaiums 4 aspects? Wdyt

And it took honour thousands of years to lose his shard despite multiple at best questionable actions
-
You may be overstating here, the shard may become unhappy if they are made to act against their purpose, but that does not mean they can't, and Taraviangian has already managed to persuade honour that an action isn't dishonourable when it was unhappy.
-
Shards are defined by their holder. Retributions holder has always had a chip on his shoulder and when given the combined drives of odium and honour the feeling he could define was the feeling to get back at those who wronged him, so retribution

Hey, I was wondering if this had came up as a WoB what would happen if you compounded a metalminds full of information? Compounding works by burning the metal to transform it into the form of investiture stored in the metal, but information should be different shouldn't it?

Wait ... Kaladin's impressions at the end
LeondeBowa replied to Nitpicking's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I don't have a quote but it rings similar to how lift described the feeling of what we thought of at the time as stormlight (it was actually lifelight) during her short story. Maybe cultivation has taken up the heralds from a distance? -
I think Adolin has definitely incorporated his loss into his identity, I think he did it during his final duel with the monarch. There was a point where he started anticipating the problems his pegleg would cause and incorporated it into his fighting, it requires a level of internalisation which I think is key. From his viewpoint I can't help but think Adolin has a very accepting identity, he deals with life based on what it is and is happy to incorporate others and build Connections in a very interesting way. He isn't a bond smith but he gathers people and is shaped by them in a way I look forward to in the next books

Wind and Truth was just too darn sad.

I'd fully agree Asher, and a common writing practice in a long running series of books is to first introduce a concept as a theme in early books and then in later books show flaws in the initial concept and arguments against. This can create a narrative which questions if the initial concept was even a good thing in the first place. We will have to wait for Sanderson to finish the series to see if he will come down on oaths being good or not in the end, but I have to say he brings up good arguments as to why they are sometimes not in the latest book
