  1. Now this is actually very interesting. I like the idea and it seems plausible.
  2. Thank you for pointing out my mistake. Though ten heartbeats adds to the ritual effect.
  3. I'd have a laugh if it turned out that Jesnah was homosexual. A good laugh indeed. I honestly hope Kaladin remains in his current social status. As for killing of characters. Love it. Might actually be the best thing about Ice and Fire - The antagonist has an honest chance.
  4. Yes. I'm aware of this. My post seem to have been flawed though. Well, assuming the "enemy" is planning to have a great assault, I assume it will be during the weeping. Humanity is quite defenseles during that period. So I'm betting on at least some time during the course of the books Kaladin will be in hard trouble due to having a bit to many dull spheres.
  5. From Dalinars trips to what ever it is, I think it's been inclined that all of the Radiants seem to have some form of Surge power. As you've already pointed out, Dalinar is offered to go and train to become... something. Does this mean that the Surgebinding can be taught? I doubt that it can be taught because then it would've most likely been passed on to others through the 4000 years and would've been some what of a normality. As it seems now, it's very, very rare. So to sum this post up. No bridge four wont be the new batch of knights. However I believe more and more people will discover their new powers through out the course of the books. However. If it were to be that bridge four became the knights. I'd love if they established the name Bridge Four instead of the wussy "Knights Radiant".
  6. I'm going to agree with others. Renarin will most likely end up being compensated for his weak body with a talent elsewhere. Though it would be very awful turn of the story. Either way. Since Adolin and his father have their own POV chapters it's very likely that Renarin will end up with some of his own. On a last note. I'd be very annoyed if Renarin ends up stabbing Adolin in the back of pure jeolosy. No, I think Sanderson will have to work quite hard on Renarin to please me.
  7. Has it been confirmed to be the blade and not his powers?
  8. What's so specia about Szeths blade? It has all the traits of the other Shard. The only significal difference is that is has a much more different size. The size is probobly different because it's used in a different type of fighting? Big blades forces the wielder of use a certain arsenal of movements, while a smaller blade increases that arsenal but to the loss of the extra force.
  9. Shoulden't the weeping be the perfect time for a desolation to take place? After all it there's no Highstrorm for weeks (except the one in the middle). No highstorm means no recharing of them spheres which will be a rather big pain in the chull for them surgebinders.
  10. Well. The first quote given are by Szeth. Szeth seems to be stating general facts. However, who have taught him these things? My assumption is that has learned all he know by himself. And like there are limits for how fast an individual can run, there ought to be personal limits of how long you can hold your Stormlight. So, the "stronger" you are the longer you can hold stormlight. This would then imply that with training, Kaladin ought to steamroll Szeth. Hope it does not come. Love that bald fella.
  11. The 10 beats before the summoning of the shard could have some spiritual value. Since it was the radiants that were given the shards in the begining these 10 heartbeats might be a inbuilt ritual. Perhaps these beats they spend waiting, being vorneble, are supposed to make them humble or something of the like. Speculations all of it though. Edit: Some one pointed out that I had written seconds instead of beats.
  12. My first post. Just read the book so there's surely things I've missed. ____ Aren't shardblades simply a mean for Odium to create chaos? For the last 4500 years it does not seem as if humanity on Roshar has been in the need of the shards to save themselves from some kind of "evil". However, during the course of the book it das been mentioned several times during these 4500 years these Shards have resulted in the fall of kingdoms and sacrifises of many people. The shards keep being a source for war and conflicts. From my point of view it's the most useful tool Ordium has.
