Nothing more than that.” Ista cocked her head, then dropped the temperature of the air around the farthest corpses to the point that the oxygen isolated itself, and exploded. “Can we be civil? Or are you just gonna kill me, perhaps hurt me to the point that I go insane?” eh

    “Interesting. Onyx feels guilty, does he. Well, let me tell him something. His very distancing, designed to prevent harm, is hurting countless people.” Ista looked at the inspector. “The destroyer? Well, if that refers to Onyx, maybe that name is the problem. If not, I will also get Onyx’s attention. He will be able to protect us. I trust him.”

    Andharik is the energy that permeates the world. It coalesces in moments of life, and moments of death, but also fills up the world of the spirits. So when someone dies, they receive an influx of this energy, empowering their soul. I was the first to die, in this world. So none had gone before me to collect this energy, and there was a surplus of it. I quickly learned that those who stayed after their death would often be malicious, and needed to be taken care of. But this is different. Sometimes, a spirit is benevolent, and they grant a mortal an excess of Andharik energy. Though with good intentions, this cannot be allowed, as the person would torment those around them.

    He handed the bird to the man. Look away. Adtae used his shadows, forming temporary blindfolds for each of the people, then removed his mask, unwinding the cloth blindfold he had underneath. Upon seeing his eyes of darkness, the spirit dissipated, and Adtae absorbed its powers. He replaced his blindfold and mask, then dissolved the blindfolds over his companions faces.

    Adtae nodded, and strolled in that direction. I will warn you. A powerful spirit resides here. Adtae, since he resided as both a spirit and a physical object, could see the spirit, a man imbued with the Andharik energy of death. With his physical sight, though, he saw only a wind. As they approached, the spirit threw a large object at Adtae.
