Kansas takes the impact, flying back—but Kyo's force also takes him straight into the swing of the Katana, which should be enough to shatter his breastplate entirely in return

Shooting someone point blank with a gun doesn't make the gun a melee weapon. It's only melee if you physically smack them with it

Kansas grins; this is what he was ready for. At the last second, he rolls to the side and extends his Katana back to the side, blade forward, slicing Kyo as he goes by
