He'll be in Houston on the 23rd. Dang it. (School semester has started by then, plus Moorcock will be in town.)

BWAHAHAHAHA. This is so awesome. Sanderson is a beast. I have no words for how amazing this is.

Discussion on State of The Sanderson 2
Mark Lindberg replied to Moash's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I'm placing bets that the surprise is this: http://ethanskar.com/wordpress/books/the-lurker/ Some people are predicting ridiculous things (Stormlight 3-10 all done? Really?), and a lot of people think it's some kind of movie deal. But as far as I've seen, all of Peter's hints have been about something writing related, something new that Brandon has written. I'm sticking with my guess above, though I'd be happy to be proved wrong and him have finished Silence Divine or some such other Cosmere novel/novella under our noses. Other than that, I'm expecting news about SoS finishing, general outlines for when he's planning to write Calamity, the 3rd Wax/Wayne book, Stones Unhallowed, and The Aztlanian, as well as general stuff about far off projects. He might have another novella or two in the works as well, but I'm not expecting terribly much more than that. Oh, and the news that Peter's posted a few times about the White Sands: Scripts for the first book are done, penciling for the first chapter, and they're auditioning colorists at the moment. Hoping to have something a little firmer for the release date. -
Where is the Final Shardhunt Item?
Mark Lindberg replied to GreyPilgrim's topic in Events and Signings
I'm betting on a Firehunt coming soon. If I had to guess, the Alloy notations will be pushed back to that one, maybe as the first prize. Wonder what the other prizes will be?- 64 replies

He was in TX last year for his Steelheart tour and stopped in Austin, where I met him. He was also in Houston for his WoR tour this year, stopped at Murder by the Book I think. So, yes, he's been here plenty in the past. He was also at LonCon in San Antonio... Was that last year?

I've heard that it was recorded, at least. Hoping a video pops up somewhere soon. https://twitter.com/dragonmount/status/485193179407187970

With a new release comes a new title!

I'm with Swimmingly on the volume levels, although I probably also have bad earbuds, plus other hearing problems. Overall, I greatly enjoyed it. Scheduling... Yeah. iTunes? I don't care so much about that. Other than that? Um... There were a few reactions where I didn't know exactly what part of the book she was talking about and had to go look it up. Episode length was fine, and thank you so much for cutting out the blank space. 5/5, would listen again.

The Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance, Episode 28: Book Wrap-up
Mark Lindberg commented on Chaos's article in Shardcast
Woo! Long journey, lots of fun. And... Dat reveal. I know Brandon has said that we aren't going to get WoK Prime until after book 5, because spoilers, but dang... I want it even more, now.- 21 comments

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Mark Lindberg replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Yeah, that person is the real fan. I basically killed my book budget for the rest of the year with that purchase, but I say it was worth it. -
You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

You buy a Stormlight 3 ARC before Sanderson retweet that they're available. -
Yeah... He mentioned it when the anthology was announced, and I immediately put it on my Amazon watch-list. I don't recall him having promoted it at all since then, though. Non-cosmere, and only about 15 pages long, so I suppose I can understand why. Still, it was well worth the read in my opinion, and I'm sure that some of the other stories will be good when I get around to reading them. I should have put a link in my initial post. Thanks for doing that.

So, new Sanderson short out today. Cool premise, good twist, still not sure how I feel about it. Anyone else read this yet?
-
Submissions tomorrow? And is this thread the best way for us to communicate about times and such, or is there some kind of chat feature that we should be using to make it easier?
-
If nobody else is posting until next Monday, I'll go ahead and wait until then--I may want to revise this a little bit, though I'm mostly happy with it as it is. I hope you can find someone else who is active. I was worried that this would be a problem, but hopefully once we have started and had at least one meeting, those who start will stick with the group.
-
Since I'm not sure how to communicate with the group on Google docs... Are we submitting tomorrow? I've spent yesterday and today outlining a new piece that I'm really enjoying, and think will work great, and hopefully only run about 30k words, and I'll have the first scene written tomorrow, ready to submit. Is this going to happen? (Two groups may work better, dealing with 8 schedules can be a real headache.)
-
Next week is spring break for me, so actually starting then wouldn't be that bad for me. I'm up for 1000 or even 1500 words, as long as the group doesn't get any larger than it already is, and I have a few days to read through everything.

Any news?
-
That time works for me as well. Thank you for doing the time zone conversions.
-
11 am PST on a Saturday is 1 pm for me, in central time. I work until 4 (my time), so that would definitely count me out. Any time after that (give me 15 minutes to get back), and I should be good. Sunday afternoons also work, as long as it's, say, 2 or later in central time.
-
Sent a PM with my email as well; really looking forward to this. I'm in US central time, and mostly free evenings and weekends, except 12-4 Sat and 12-1 Sun. I've used Google Hangouts before for various activities, and I think they would work great for this, if we could find a time. I'm also open to >1000 words per week, because I usually write considerably more than that.

Brandon's Writing Class - 2014
Mark Lindberg replied to WeiryWriter's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I'd be interested as well. I have been following the lectures and writing excuses for years. (Also, thanks to whoever is posting these this time around.)
