  1. “You do not be magic, I think. There is a place where you arrr not allowed to use any. It be peaceful there, probably. There be another not peaceful place where you be not allowed to use magic too.”
  2. Capt’n Exposition taps the side of his new whale. “You arrr able to choose. You can be strange to, or you will be confused.” He briefly has aviator sunglasses, then they disappear. “That be making no sense, which means I not be able to get me treasure.” “You at least arrr polite.”
  3. Capt’n Exposition shakes his head sadly. “That be impossible. You arrr here now, and stuck till the end of your days. I be’d normal once, you know.”
  4. The pirate hat gains a vague face. “I be Cap’n Exposition. I explain things to lubbers - land, space, or otherwise - when they arrr confused.” “No. You arrr in a strange place, but it be not a dream.” Cap’n Exposition salutes the sky as he climbs onto his small frost whale. Rebus shakes his head. “The point was to find a third to be the quest itself. But chaos is returning, it seems; I say all can direct the obstructions and ways forward.”
  5. The pirate voice is upset. “Me trusty mount! How shall I get home now?” A floating pirate hat appears front of Atlas. “No, this be not insanity. You arrr simply within TLT now. It be a strange place, where people fall from the sky.”
  6. A stereotypical pirate voice speaks to Atlas. “Arrr you alright? I’ been hunting this here storm loud for ages.” “Either one Author to create our quest, or we let them all do it.”
  7. The storm loud bellows a thunderous sound at Atlas, shaking the ground. “That is an excellent plan. We need to acquire a facilitator, or choose chaos.”
  8. Well, Bacon the Tax Collector could still be important… I have some plans. “So we bring that protagonist - I assume it’s Cricket - with us.” To make matters even stranger, suddenly pineapples.
  9. “Ah. Most bearers of Plotblades cannot be easily defeated by one without one. One blade should lead to another, especially if the first is cast from your arc.” Rebus smiles. Not quite… in fact, very much not. This echo of Bacon is as far from Bacon the Tax Collector as a derivative of Bacon can be.
  10. Rebus, have done some research, smiles. “I have a plan. There are rumors that part of Plot’s corpse is hidden somewhere. I believe we could take fragments of Plot’s unkeyed power and have them become Plotblades matched to us.” Meanwhile, some of Bacon’s lost memories managed to form a fuzzy echo. This normally wouldn’t matter, but it managed to collide with a terrible idea before it dissipated. It’s fine… no problems could possibly be caused by an echo of Bacon. It wasn’t even physical.
  11. Interesting… You’d need to threaten the Thread, or at least everyone in it. Kion continues holding her bag, because it’s relatively heavy and Moni doesn’t look too good.
  12. Oh. Then you just get free energy from your exponentially increasing amount of tears.
  13. Interesting… so if you intentionally become an antagonist, you can then claim Antagonist. Honestly, Malevolence might count. But my knowledge - and thus the knowledge of my characters - was flawed. Kion walks over to her, concern in his eyes. “Do you need anything?” Plot Twists was (in a surprising twist) an elaborate deception, if I recall correctly. Where do you actually quest for Plotblades?
  14. “I’d be interested in seeing any of them, honestly. Exposition would be interesting, though it is not for me. Competence, perhaps, is a blade I would like. Awe could be interesting. You might want Champion, though I imagine the bearer of such a blade could be beaten by someone with enough determination and filler episodes. I believe if we find the right quest, we’ll each find a blade tailored to us. Then we can try to kill each other to get the other one, which would be interesting.”
  15. Rebus - the real Rebus - speaks from his moon, for the purposes of secrecy. Rebus prime stays where he is to focus on talking to Desolation. “A quest for Plotblades, or at least other quests that might have them.”
  16. Rebus prime smiles. “I’m glad you’ve seen reason. We may not agree on everything, but I will need someone to accompany me - the real me - on a quest.” I think anything that isn’t on Nameless’s about me is unclaimed. Love Triangles is in Platypus’s possession, I think, but I think that is it. Significantly, Protagonist and Antagonist are floating around waiting to be claimed.
  17. “True.” He also pauses. Rebus nods thoughtfully. “Then why are you trying to fight the people in Ragnorok? With this purpose, you may have a better chance of surviving. But by fighting your own characters, you’re squandering it.”
  18. The way I read that implies either I can make myself younger but potentially also lose my memories. (Simply invest, and learn things if I keep my memories. I’d eventually youth myself out of existence, but until then I’d live a long time.) Alternatively, I can create small buildings typically for storage of tools at an exponentially increasing rate. (Less useful, but I can likely make money with it). Finally, I could have more and more of my hair fall out, which I could burn for free energy, potentially using the decrease in entropy to keep myself alive, with gene editing or something. You can telekinetically reshape dark chocolate you can see.
  19. Alvar waits at Jerehlu’s side. He couldn’t get anything if someone killed him before he could try, after all. “I think the adventurers are fighting back. No reason to break cover.”
  20. @NameIess Kion stops walking forward. “Moni? Are you okay?” Rebus nods. “Something I once read said that all writers are thieves. But I stole this concept from Bacon, who likely stole it from someone else. And the use of sanitized copies - otherwise known as avatars - was likely stolen subconsciously from Madness. Every part of me is stolen, but together it makes a different, original whole. And really, it’s plagiarism, which is slightly different.”
  21. “I am still not a Narrator, and my relative size to the inkling and whatever you are is not specified. You are scheming against the wrong person. You’re a designated antagonist to heroic characters, which means no matter what you do, you will lose. You cannot kill Perseus, or Moni, or Faunus, because they have plot armor! Which means if you want to win, you need your Author on your side. That is my plan. Already, I didn’t include Kion in my list of characters with plot armor. He’s letting me try to convince you to kill him off, at least to win your trust.” He smiles broadly. “That means I’ve won.”
  22. Rebus prime laughs. “Yes, you certainly need to improve your information gathering. And your memory. Your plans have all failed, mine have not. And informed abilities mean nothing at all.”
  23. She stands up. “It takes a few minutes to get a message to the city, more than that for most of the research bases. Do you need anything else?”
  24. There are now four version of Rebus: Rebus, who is the main one and is in several places at once; a version mind-controlled by the Entoturis security system, Rebus prime, and soulless duplicates he made while he was at the Dreamsmith. “Around what? I have just reinvented the concept of avatars; there is nothing you could do to me that would hurt the original.” Ah. So why did I think they would be at the trial? I legitimately have no idea. What do you mean by claimed? “Ah. So you want the Dreamsmith to make a weapon for each and every one of your soldiers? That sounds tedious and unlikely to be allowed by Omen. Thus far, all of your plans have failed.” Kion follows along with the group, wondering where Moni might be and cursing himself for not being able to help.
  25. Rebus prime laughs. “What would you do with this grand army? Have you ever tried to control a large group of villains? Their fundamental nature includes backstabbing each other. But the Dreamsmith already has an evil counterpart, who must kill people to create blades from their entire souls. There’s also the Witherlord, some demon whose name I forgot, and Desolation, who as you can see is back.” He did, though they had been slightly haphazard because their nearness had not yet been specified.
