Will was interested in both the organization’s thoughts on him, and the method behind the language learning - if it was mysteriously sourced knowledge, directly implanted, or quickly learned.

Full Cosmere Restarted RP: PHASE 2
Through the Living Heir replied to KaladinsSenseOfHumourSpren's topic in Roleplaying
Your orbit will be more disrupted than that of my planet, but should it truly pose a problem I can alter it. I would suggest a perpendicular orbit, if the proper place truly is at the same distance. My planet and the stars can be considered stationary from some perspectives. Invention realized just how much of a problem his fellow Shards would be. Whimsy was the lesser of two evils, though, so he manifested a projection of himself to speak. Layke was clothed simply, much as he was during their journey together. He sighed, and spoke. “What do you suggest?”- 521 replies

The Longest Thread (Misadventures)
Through the Living Heir replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Rebel screamed, the bond with Cursed Treasure flaring far more powerfully than ever before. His soul strained, and suddenly went out, fully consumed. Rebel slumped forwards and turned to dust. Rebus blew out the last bit of Ordered Chaos energy on his finger, and smiled. Meanwhile, Cursed Treasure strained to stay with Lezterp, fully consuming Rebel’s soul. Lezterp - my bond is gone. Rebel is dead. Rebus nodded. “Many would agree. Many would call all of the Thread’s inhabitants weird.” Rebus smiled inside the mask and locked together all the utility fog in the air, acting in an instant. “If you insist,” he said, watching Aeon hopefully become immobilized. Rebus took notice, but did not interfere - Asharak was doing well, and Lezterp would presumably self-destruct. “Truly no idea what you are talking about,” Rebus said cheerfully. “I would offer to help, but I’m not sure I can do much without undue risk.” Oops… “Colleges. That was what you wanted in return for your help - education for your children.” “I doubt it - many of my emotions are gone, excised from my soul.” Rebus grinned at Bacon. “Now, I’ll be taking either the paper, or something else - you can choose, I suppose.”- 111825 replies

Full Cosmere Restarted RP: PHASE 2
Through the Living Heir replied to KaladinsSenseOfHumourSpren's topic in Roleplaying
Layke was glad, somewhat. This other Shard understood him - he felt better having an ally. And so Invention observed the new planet and new god in his system, thinking of possibilities. Welcome. This is not what I had intended, but it is good for us, I think. My planet shall stay in place - but Yrots shall complicate matters. What location shall we decide for it?- 521 replies

Will read through the files, trying to find commonalities. His own procedures and notes might be quite useful - or simply interesting.

The Longest Thread (Misadventures)
Through the Living Heir replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Yup. I shall think more, though having it be created organically would be match the powers. Rebus did notice, but he wasn’t sure which emotion it was supposed to be. It worked better on crowds, anyway - as far as he was aware. Rebus took notice of this. He wasn’t sure how harm was defined, though - and this could still be hidden from him. Rebus smirked. “Bacon… You should know I am serious.” Rebus sent a spear of utility fog at Aeon, testing her defenses. It was still lit up and moving slowly from him to his target - as the metaphorical gloves came off, that would change. It is broken, yes. But firstly, this is already a Narrator, and secondly, the power (if it is working normally) works pretty much exclusively on interactions between people - either crowds or already existing interactions, which will often effect the user. Rebus held out his burning stick threateningly. “I honestly do not know what you are referring to.” Rebus realized this conversation needed to change. “I’d nearly forgotten - I was going to give you a list of collages.” For a little while there were just more adventurers. If we want to roleplay that we can, but otherwise… Rebus turned to Rebel, face nearly blank. “You were clever, I admit. But I’ve caught you now, and I shall not allow you to escape. I was going to execute you - I still am - but first there is something I want from you.” Rebus held out his hand, and the shifting dark and light of Chaotic Order burst to life in it. He flicked his wrist, sending a stream into the clone. Cursed Treasure gasped in Lezterp’s head, visibly flickering. What is happening? The bond - it’s going insane! “They were the ones like me, but they had shapes - not the cloud I have. Different, somehow, though texture and color is hard for me. And I think we were in a forest.”- 111825 replies

Full Cosmere Restarted RP: PHASE 2

And that is why I am afraid. Each one of us can destroy ourselves and the others. If you will be reasonable, we can be allies. I have realized there is no true way to retreat away from these fickle gods - but we may be able to create a solution.- 521 replies

The Longest Thread (Misadventures)
Through the Living Heir replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Rebus summoned Antagonist, not as a crown but as a wicked halberd. “Let us begin,” he said, smiling under his helmet. Rebus smiled. He didn’t think he could do this specific skill, even once he gave himself the same powers, but a part of him was giddy nonetheless at Fael’s destructive potential. “I’m glad you enjoy it.” Niche but powerful was the exact area I was going for - in contrast to Narration.- 111825 replies

The Longest Thread (Misadventures)
Through the Living Heir replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Rebus nodded to himself, satisfied that the powers function properly. Sort of. It’s changing whether or not people react to each other, rather than manipulating any emotions directly. The power could also take a spark and make it light other fuel, but without a spark it couldn’t. It’s the coincidence thing - using feedback loops and cascading effects to get what you want to happen to happen. The other application is to create things that are a lot like Resonances - it can be used to combine powers and attributes that wouldn’t otherwise interact. Finally, there’s some tangential stuff like awareness of bonds, fractal and cellular automata motifs, and the catalyzing of Nullite and Prismite to make more Chaotic Order (this works through the second application). Rebus nodded gravely, with a slight smile. “I agree, then. If I win, I shall put in place measures to protect Parasite, should it continue to exist. If you kill this body completely, you win - I warn you, this shall be difficult.” Wrath only:- 111825 replies

Full Cosmere Restarted RP: PHASE 2
Through the Living Heir replied to KaladinsSenseOfHumourSpren's topic in Roleplaying
Layke’s visions of the future trembled again, but they solidified again as - unknown to him - Cultivation decided against an immediate request. I should have known your Shard would give you interest in that. At the moment, though, I must disappoint - I have no goal but to have it all make sense, something the others are making it very hard to do. I have been learning what I can do, but the speed at which the others created life does not seem appealing.- 521 replies

Rebus frowned, honestly baffled. “What did you do? I suppose I can see some of it - did you amplify despair?” I do think that works, though it is much harder than a flash mob or riot, which can occur normally. Soulcrushingness can be kinda contagious too.- 111825 replies

I take the lerasium, chipping off a tiny bit to burn. The rest I hide somewhere. I start trying to farm from my gigantic spiky castle, proving your statement. I take another bit of lerasium, alloy it with pewter I got somewhere, and feed it to the plants so they will grow faster.

Cosmere Free For All
Through the Living Heir replied to Qianweilian's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
We don’t know if that works or not, but if it does both of us get stronger. Successfully Leeching away either all the stormlight or all the nicrosil will shut the process down, though we have a couple Bondsmiths who may incidentally restore it. I suppose - but if the combatant is actually Fused, without anti-Investiture they’re invincible. Now that I think about it, if I drop the prep time (and just time bubble) I can be Fused - I don’t know how a Fused Sleepless would work, but it might be cool. -
Invention might be willing to help once Layke is influenced a little more, but he would like to stay very far away from the “scary Shards”: Odium, Ruin, Virtuosity, Ambition, Dominion, and to a lesser extent Whimsy, Autonomy, Mercy, and Valor (who are just plain unpredictable). You’ll probably get some Virtuosity Investiture you could do something with - assuming Virtuosity doesn’t receive the power to continue influencing it, in which case it’s a terrible idea.

Full Cosmere Restarted RP: PHASE 2
Through the Living Heir replied to KaladinsSenseOfHumourSpren's topic in Roleplaying
Layke was unhappy to be bothered, though he did trust this particular Shard for the most part. Still, he decided to respond. I am dissatisfied, somehow. We - mortals - killed the mightiest being to exist, and took that power. We can do practically anything, and yet still be wrong. Finally I can almost prepare for anything, and yet I still don’t know what to expect - or even what to do. The others - not all, but several - are being so erratic with their powers that I can’t know what will happen next.- 521 replies

The Longest Thread (Misadventures)
Through the Living Heir replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Someone named me Whan - he was nice. I don’t know what I am - the others called me an abomination, said I already existed. They know how to use their magic - I don’t. Rebus was very surprised, but snatched a burning branch from the fire and held it in with quite good form for a short spear. “What do you want?” Rebus smiled at him, somewhere between satisfied and sheepish. “I would consider him to be a version of Bat, though my relationship with physical bodies is fairly fluid. He still trusts me at this point - it was fairly recent that he decided to oppose me, slightly after his powers came in at full force - so he’s sure you’ll be safe and focused his worry on Tam.” “Yes - the factors exist already, and you can ensure they combine in the right way.”- 111825 replies

Cosmere Free For All
Through the Living Heir replied to Qianweilian's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Brass! All the feruchemic brass! Pretty good, I see where you’re going (you can kinda copy me and soulcast metals for yourself as long as you’ve got stormlight)… do we know if Fused can respawn? Actually, it seems to be all unbound Bondsmiths, the WoB doesn’t clarify which of a fairly long list can actually be done (he says something along the lines of “some of those can be stolen”, though I do agree with the guess), and it probably takes time. A Bondsmith-off would be fun, though - each trying to take away each other’s powers before the other can do the same. Bonding into the hoard and mind controlling them with your mighty centralized intelligence (attrition - you are hard to overwrite, individual hoardlings are easy easy to overwrite) is another potential tactic that might be faster to deploy, though not complete. -
Magic Systems For Full Cosmere Restart RP
Through the Living Heir replied to al_lan_mandragoran's topic in Roleplaying
It could be - I was thinking of saving that, for a Mists analog. Though actually, I guess the Laykium is like the Mists already. Yup. Sel cognitive teasers is all we’ve got. Well, I wasn’t thinking of putting any god metals in star cores, at least for the moment. There is, however, someone who has done something like that. *cough cough* Virtuosity is insane and I love it *cough cough*- 205 replies

Full Cosmere Restarted RP: PHASE 2
Through the Living Heir replied to KaladinsSenseOfHumourSpren's topic in Roleplaying
Layke noticed this from his far away star system, baffled. What could possibly be done with that much power? Only some sort of avatar could warrant it - even trying to move the star would require less. This was why he had left - the other Shards were too unpredictable. Layke considered it. Shalta had made sense to him, mostly - perhaps he could make an exception. But no, another Shard had already offered.- 521 replies
