@The Stormfather Still in Astra’s hands, the spike speaks in your mind again. It looks like you used to be a sand master. I think I can give you that back…

Teleportation : A mystery/chaotic RP
Through the Living Heir replied to The Stormfather's topic in Roleplaying
Yay! The thread’s still alive! Vall drops behind the ape and levels off at its back, trying to get somewhere it can’t reach. He then regrows his claws and holds on to the ape, digging them in. If he can stay there without being hit, he charges up his breath weapon again, then breathes a space warp through the ape’s head. -

Economy collapse. (Which is the logical result of infinite money.) -
Astra stared into the distance blankly for a moment. In a low voice, her monotone semi-conscious couldn't help but ask: Where would I stab myself? She couldn't tell if it was a question to Mark or the spike, but any answer was better than what she had. Hearing this coherent thought, the spike answers: It depends upon what power you want. You see, I’m a lot more invested than a normal spike. So I can grant a bunch of powers, but only one at a time. Most of them are Connection shenanigans, and I can fuel them by pulling in heat and light from around your body. It’s not dangerous, but it will look noticeable. Hearing this, the spike continues talking to you @Lotus Blossom. Maybe he’s smarter than I thought… he was listening at least. And he knows that this will be worth it, even if he’s for some reason not willing to take it for himself.

Intelligent business decisions and paid outsourcing. -
@Lotus Blossom The spike speaks in your head, now: The first part is true. The second might be, but I don’t have anything to do with it. Do you want to win? Cause this guy doesn’t. It doesn’t even hurt that much. You feel slightly upset about this. Why doesn’t Mark want to stab himself with sapient metal? It’d help him win…

You feel slightly insulted. I control my powers, so I guess I could make people teleport back towards you if they try to run away, or something. You’d have to hit the right bind point, though.

The Game Makers didn’t give me a name. They’re mean. I’m not mean, though. I’m here to help you! Don’t worry, I just Connected myself to you. You could walk away if you wanted, and then I couldn’t talk to you, but then I’d be sad. I’d move, and help someone else instead. The metal is a little cold to the touch, and as the voice in your mind speaks, it gets a little colder and the weird reflections and refractions become darker in color. It rolls backwards a bit when you poke it, but seemingly not supernaturally. (It’s just a round thing on a flat surface. You poke it, it moves.) The voice pipes up again. I’m a little like a Shardblade, a little like a Connection Fabriel, and a little like a Hemalurgic spike. I can give you a bunch of powers, but you’ll have to pick one. Like, if you just wanted to talk to people, like I’m doing with you, I could shrink down a little and go in your earlobe, and if you wanted to change that, you could take me out no problem. But if you wanted to teleport, like I can, you’d need to put me somewhere that was more important, and then you might die if you took me out. I get my power from the environment, mostly. That’s why I’m taking in light weirdly. But you can use other Investiture, if you need to do something big a couple times. So yeah, tell me what you want, and if I can give it, I’ll tell you which bind point to use. I can even make it hurt less! And don’t worry, after we win, they can take me out if you don’t want me.

Who wants a thing? I was gonna choose randomly, but I don’t know who’s still alive, so whoever’s paying attention and responds gets it. To whomever responds first:

I'm going to be AFK for the next two weeks, at LARP camp. Sorry for the inconvenience. I'll be back by not next Saturday, but the Saturday after.

I think so. You might need a counterweight on the end, but you should be able to cut through people with it. (Just make sure to not hit yourself) Edit: I completely misinterpreted what you said. I think the cord would still block things, but it might work.

Because a half lashing up done by the Windrunners can accomplish this, I find it more likely (and more interesting) that there is a sort of reverse reverse lashing which repels a given type of object. I do agree that Lightweavers and Bondsmiths being weird in other ways could mean that the other orders get a hybrid surge, which would be cool. In fact, Dalinar’s use of his surges to repair something (a statue, I think) may be an instance of this, and Shallan is generally not the best at soulcasting, which may mean she lacks access to this hybrid surge.

Wow. That’s most of what I have to say. That is a much better piece of writing than I’ve produced. I don’t really see the issue with breath and artifocus being similar. They seem different to me, and regardless, there are much more similar ideas (orcs, for instance, have been copy and pasted so many times) in other fiction. I’m really excited to find out what happens next in your story.

Fabrial Invention Ideas Thread
Through the Living Heir replied to SourCandyLime's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah! We could throw in more of those reverser fabriels I seem to use in all my ideas, and some windspren and wavespren diminishers, and let it weather a highstorm, so we can reach the Origin, and find out if there’s actually anything over there. I don’t think it says outright, but that’s my guess. Me two! When I come back from camp, I’ll probably have a few more ideas for you. (Or I might have one tomorrow before I leave.) -
Hello, Sourcandylime here!
Through the Living Heir replied to SourCandyLime's topic in Introduce Yourself!
Are you another one of my clones? Because I do the same thing… (and am also trying to write a book and some magic systems.) I’ve been procrastinating, though. I would really like to see and/or collaborate on this! I’m planning to do soulstamp shenanigans after I get back from camp. I believe there is a roleplaying thread with a similar premise somewhere. I can look for it. Edit: you found it on your own, it seems. Agree on both counts. There is a forum section to get and give feedback on personal writing projects. I’d be happy to proofread some of your work, or take feedback on my own.
