  1. “I did, but it took months to move between them. I spend around half my time on spaceships.”
  2. “They’ll probably just drop some weak monsters into an area and see what we do.” Alvar continues to lean against the wall, faking intimidating nonchalance and twirling a dagger. “I guess we’ll see if you’ll actually hold your own.”
  3. “We travel between the stars. Earth is close to the center of the IISC and my dad and I follow the edge - it’s his job to study alien creatures that are discovered. Going to earth would be multiple years of travel, even with our warp drives. I do want to see it some time. Maybe if our ships get faster…”
  4. “I don’t actually know what earth looks like. I’ve never been.”
  5. Alvar watches the exchange, leaning against the wall and spinning his singular metal dagger in a very intentionally absentminded way. “The ad did say bodyguards, so you three might have a chance.”
  6. “Huh. We can get clothes from here?” Dray pulls a pair of hiking pants from his bag and puts them on over the shorts he’d had before. “That doesn’t mean we don’t need a plan.” While he walks, Dray is stacking rocks on the side of the trail for some reason.
  7. Nick shrugs. “So what we call it doesn’t mean anything, and neither of Aki nor I know enough about Earth to figure of if it’s the same or not.” Nick continues walking down the trail, focusing on managing his projects.
  8. “True… whatever’s translating this may decide to call the human homeland earth - the word for ground and the word for this planet can be the same until you begin traveling between the stars.” Nick turns back around, then spins back, excited. @Ancient Elantrian “Hey Kaleb. What are the names you call your planet?”
  9. Hi! This looks fun. Hmmm. Alvar is searching for a new contract, having come back from taking down a nest of drakes. The infuriating creatures had just kept going further down their tunnels, almost drowning him. He hadn’t been paid nearly enough for the trouble, puny the drakes may have been. But the Duke, now he would pay well. Not the best paying job he’d ever done, but the scales of pay, effort, and legal dubiousness were balanced pretty well in his favor. And the audition - let alone the job itself - might earn him some prestige. Maybe he could score an even more important contract…
  10. "Either that's a translation error, or you're from my world. The planet humans came from is called Earth, or sometimes Terra. So that's odd." Nick has apparently gotten confident enough in his new body to walk backward in front of you. "I wonder how this translation thing works, anyway. We really shouldn't all be speaking the same language."
  11. “Sounds like a pretty nice place,” Nick says, sincerely. “Do you know what your whole planet is called? List as many names for it as possible.”
  12. “I haven’t heard of it. What’s it like there?”
  13. “I was thinking we could try to trade for raw materials.” Nick walks along with everyone else. As he walks, he tries to do at least some talking: @J. Magi “Aki, I don’t think I ever asked where you’re from.”
  14. “Nice. I tried to do that trick at a meeting one time. It didn’t work, though.” Dray takes the ferrorods and strikes them, sending a shower of sparks at the ground. “I think we’re fine.” (These are real. You might be able to find some videos.)
  15. Nick waves everyone onwards. “We should go see if the people down there can help us.”
  16. “It’s closer to a robe of useful items. You need something: it shows up.”
  17. “Maybe it was the focus. Since this happened, I never actually put all of my effort into something.”
  18. “So I just did all this work for nothing?” “Fine. We’re bringing the logs, though.” Dray begins to load the logs, axe, saw, and rope into his backpack.
  19. “This is much more controlled than it was even twenty minutes ago. I wonder what happened.” Veer begins to walk towards the cafeteria, Gemini floating behind him.
  20. “I have ferrorods. But that is pretty good technique. Are you a scout too?” “Yeah, that looks good.” Dray takes a break, thunking the axe into the log he’d been chopping over. He comes over and begins to set up a log cabin style fire in the first fire circle, using his split wood and what everyone else had gathered.
  21. "Sure. Then I'll go find a magic councilor." he starts walking toward the cafeteria. "Wait a minute- my magic worked the way it was supposed to. And it still is!" Suddenly, things go back to levitating, and Veer quickly takes the circlet off. "Weird..."
  22. "Yeah, I can see that." Veer walks over to him, shaking his hand. "Good game."
