  1. “I suppose you’re right. We’ll see if anyone is actually willing to win, first.”
  2. Third seems to materialize behind Vistari. “Would you like me to help?” Some black birds circle in the sky, almost as though they’re waiting for something.
  3. “So you do know about the Edge and know where it is… has the whole thing been mapped out on this side? Is there an equivalent of the Lawless? Although I guess it’s not necessarily lawless…”
  4. Yeah, I decided that I didn't have the time to run this right now. Maybe after cross country ends... But the character looks good; approved for when I actually start this.
  5. Hello, and welcome to the Shard! I’m glad to have you here. Do you have any non-Sanderson interests you’d like to share? Do you have an idea of what you’ll do on the forums, or would you like suggestions?
  6. “Sorry!” Veer says, trying to avoid touching what hurt. “So there are other dragons that live past the Edge, which didn’t have enough magic to create their own Kingdom… I guess that makes sense. But how did I get past the Edge?” Hey @Ancient Elantrian, is Gemini still throwing up in the corner?
  7. Veer goes back to cleaning the wound, not saying anything.
  8. “But… but… what about the Dragonwar? And the legends? And the Hydra? Is all our theology wrong?”
  9. “I use cantrips to make weapons from ice, but I can’t water shape something that isn’t made from water.” Alvar gets his money and pays for the potions. “If you don’t have the poison, that’s fine. I think I need to go, anyway. Pleasure doing business with you.” Alvar takes the healing potions and jogs back to the castle, arriving just in time.
  10. "Suit yourself, but you won't find better quality elsewhere," The half-orc replied. “If I wanted quality, I’d have asked for quality. You don’t make any cheap potions?” Alvar turns to leave. He could probably afford the potions, but they’re overpriced. He’s got time for one more shop before he has to go back. Alvar goes into a second alchemist’s shop. “I’d like a half dozen stabilizer healing potions, one decent one to put someone back on their feet, and a water based injury poison, please.”
  11. “Forget it. I’m going to a different store, if you think you can rob me.” If your idea for cost happens to be a hundred times what I thought, Alvar pays for the potions and poison with one of his two gold (to me. Probably platinum to you.) “Thank you.”
  12. “I’ll pay for the venom myself, but him, I, and the other three will pool our money for the healing potions. What’s the bill?”
  13. Alvar ducks into an alchemist’s shop. “I’d like a half dozen basic healing potions; the stabilizer kind. Let’s throw in a better healing potion too, so we can put someone back into action. And do you have a cheap-ish injury poison or venom that can be frozen?” @J. Magi
  14. “We should go, then. There’s not a whole lot of time before the tryout.” Alvar begins to speedwalk out of the castle and down the street, not particularly caring if the others keep up.
  15. “I don’t think we have a healer, so I’m going to buy a few healing potions, and I’m also planning to buy some poison so I can make my blades work better.”
  16. Alvar nods to him in thanks. “Around a quarter of one of these, if I get most of it.” Alvar answers, gesturing to his swords. He returns to exiting the castle. “We don’t have too much time. I’m going to the market to buy some supplies; I’ll be back in half an hour.”
  17. @TheRavenHasLanded Alvar grits his teeth. “They have points. As much as I hate to back down from a challenge, we should do this later. We have other people to fight, and we haven’t yet been given the funds to waste of a half dozen healing potions.” Alvar looks around for an actual exit so he doesn’t pour a bunch of water on the carpet. “I’d like my gold back now.”
  18. Alvar continues to smile menacingly, striding purposefully toward the exit as he preforms the wrist twitch again, creating a barbed ice blade for his other hand. "I think it will be you. Blood makes ice just as well as water. The swords are like this for a reason." Alvar turns to a passing servant. "Does the duke have healing potions? Bring a couple and put them on my tab; that guy will need them, and I want to be back in top shape for the challenge. And some injury poisons as well; whatever liquid ones you can find." Turning to the other three adventurers, he assures them, "I won't be using them on him. That's a waste of poison. If the servant can't find any, can you get me some supplies?" He tosses one of his two golden coins - 100 silver at face value - to Lusha. @Spark of Hope @TwinSouls @J. Magi
  19. Alvar smiles viscously, revealing his two layers of canines and occasionally bleeding other teeth. He cracks his neck, then flicks his wrist. Water runs out of the nozzle of his custom leather armor’s vambrace. “How about a ‘warm up’. It’ll be good for us…” The water forms into a sword shape, then freezes, turning cloudy and crystalline as chilling wind rushes toward it. The process takes one or two seconds, and leaves Alvar with a similarly dangerous-looking sword. It’s serrated on both edges, and has barbs on the flat of the blade that would make cutting both inefficient and highly painful. It’s long and relatively wide, giving it as much reach and weight as can be utilized without needing two hands. “We’d best do this outside. We wouldn’t want to scare the duke.”
  20. “I’m a melee fighter, and I’m decently fast. I can either take down people who get too close, or I can take out people behind cover. We should take out a group loan or simply pool our money so we can get healing potions, unless one of you four can heal. Maybe some poison, too.” @TwinSouls @J. Magi “Ha! I founded the club. I’ve been doing this since longer than you’ve been alive.”
  21. “Ok. Do you want the head intact for mounting on a wall or something? I’ll need to find a water source; is there a lake or river nearby that’s free to use?” @The Stormfather @The Stormfather
  22. Alvar looks slightly upset, although he’s glad that the pompous elf isn’t in his group. Alvar gets up as well, trying to steer the group somewhere they can talk without being overheard. “I typically work alone. But if we want to do this, we should at least a some sort of a plan.”
