  1. Nick tries to pull his foot out from under it, but fails. Having the xenosuit pull as many nutrients from the foot and boot, he cuts it off with the glaive. As long as his brain was intact, he could regrow it later. “Got it. Do you have specs for the blaster? Although actually, that’d take out the anti-tear layer. Yeah, don’t shoot at me; I can’t protect myself from both energy and kinetic weapons at once.” Nick swings his glaive in arcs, draining blood from soldiers if he spots an opportunity. As his damaged foot regrows, he stumbles and catches himself by firing hydrogen thrusters. He focuses on the crossbow soldiers, trying to stop them from hitting Larry. Darts and swords fail to penetrate his suit, and he grows more confident, parrying with his forearm while attacking using the glaive.
  2. Nick tries to bat it away with his glaive, but that is easier said than done. It slips past and takes him in the side, which does essentially nothing. It does the fall on his foot, however, and there’s a crunching sound as it breaks a bone or two. The pain is shut off, and he lifts the sword, testing to see if it is indeed supernaturally light. The commander should be easily defeated now that he’s lost his weapon.
  3. The odd thing is, you aren’t panicked. The fish did something to you, making you feel calm.
  4. Nick had been retreating, trying to buy himself enough time for the ferrian blade-plant to reconfigure the sword. The knives come out of nowhere, distracting the commander. “Hey! I totally had that!” No you didn’t. “Fine. Thanks, Sleeper! You probably can’t hear me anyway.” Swinging his glaive in an arc to scare away the ordinary soldiers, he advances again. Who knows, maybe Sleeper even took out the commander.
  5. The first island… you have a mind shielding aviar, right? The water is blue and pristine, closer to a vacation spot than a death trap. Small, brightly colored fish swim around your ankles, nudging you. Seaweed anchored to the sand waves serenely. You know, somehow that you should not eat it. If you don’t have a mind shielding aviar, congrats! Read the following: Third walks the other way. His deepwalker is still waiting, and he gets on its back. It swims away from the island, back towards the GM HQ. The black aviar leaps from his shoulder and flies off; Third watches it go with mild concern.
  6. “Ok, I’d do a rotating patrol.” Alvar tries to figure out how to make the horses start moving, but he can’t.
  7. “Why does everyone keep calling my stuff possessed?! I’ve just an inventor, ok? I’ll have to ask someone less murderous about this Ellvirin.” Seeing the somewhat worrying twirling of the greatsword, he continues. “Is that hydrogen filled too?” Not wanting to lose his not fully reinforced glaive, Nick uses its magnet to pick up one of the other metal triangles and flings it at the greatsword, trying to turn it into a bunch of unhelpful small metal triangles.
  8. Nick looks around, bewildered at the lack of substance. The ground is a featureless plane, and floating sheets of text bob to and fro. “This is weird…”
  9. I was gonna do fire, but someone beat me to it. Maybe the other ship carpenter died in the fire? Can I push the air with other air to move it and make more wind? Is the magic precise enough to make specific sounds on purpose? Can I deny people air my pushing it away from them? Is the wind strong enough to move people? What if I have a wingsuit-ish thing?
  10. Alvar grits his teeth. “Good.” he says, putting lots of emphasis on the word, in a strange combination between politeness, sarcasm, and seething anger. Alvar sighs, seeing even more ‘accessory to property damage’ charges in his future. “I suppose we should get going.” He turns to Sleeper to arrange patrol patterns with him. “Do you think we should circle around, or just sweep ahead of us for ambushes?” @TheRavenHasLanded
  11. “Freedom,” Varel whispers “I can help with that, I think. I’ll give you the current location of a tribute. Be quick, or you’ll miss them. If you do succeed, you’ll get something more.” Third waves his hand, and the white aviar flies away, destroying the vision of your loved ones. He hands Varel a map, with an x marked on a beach two islands away. (Ping me if you go there) Third begins to walk away into the forest.
  12. Suddenly, you know what would be happening right now, if you hadn’t been a tribute. You see a different life, one where you are a home. You see the people who you’d never see again, if you didn’t win. Third smiles viciously. “What do you really want?”
  13. Do you accept its bond? “I want to make this more interesting… what do you want?”
  14. Mr. Forrest watched on a monitor. Third is taking some...interesting actions. Perhaps it's time I make my own investments...
  15. I don’t know if I have enough of a reputation for any jokes to be created, but can I have a meme?
  16. Third rides the elevator out of the GM HQ, stopping to acquire three birds: one bright white, one pitch black, and one that is @Exotic Almond, which he releases into the arena. He calls a deepwalker, standing on its back while it swims right under the surface. He doesn’t find more goats, but as he walks through the islands, deftly avoiding all the hazards, he diverts his path to find a tribute. Suddenly, you notice a man in a lab coat standing against a tree. He has a red and blue Aviar on one shoulder, a black one on the other, and a white Aviar, which looks a bit like a dove, perched on his finger. “Hello, Varel. How are you liking the games so far?” he asks, slightly mocking. “What do you think of earning yourself a reward?” He tosses the dove aviar towards you; it glides to land on your shoulder. It offers you a bond; you feel it trying to connect to your mind.
  17. “So that put Calum as first rest.” Alvar puts more effort into making that statement civil than he should need to. He does examine Calum’s gear and appearance closely, however. Nobody actually saw him clear the county of monsters; Alvar didn’t even know what weapon he used. @J. Magi
  18. Third interviews his staff, trying to figure out where the goat came from (he fails, but that could simply be due to good liars). He does note the promise yet rebelliousness of a young man named Fourth, and decides to shuffle the chain of command and make him the direct successor of Wildlife Coordinator. Then, he heads to the elevator, riding out into the arena.
  19. Third angrily turns to Vistari. “I did not put that there. Either you’re trying to usurp me, or one of my interns should be fed to the Greenspine as a peace offering.” He storms angrily out of the room, showing more emotion than earlier, now that you think about it. “I’m going to look for more encroachments on my job. And maybe I’ll give a tribute some encouragement. Don’t broadcast the footage of me until I review it.”
