  1. “Hello. My name is Veer.” Veer is a relatively average man, and seems to be ignoring you as he talks. He absentmindedly scratches his shoulder, which has some sort of prismatically shining rash on it. It’s not glowing, but it sparkles rainbow colors in the light.
  2. Meanwhile: Duck chases the blood trail with the other geese, hoping that Joseph will somehow escape. Suddenly, there is an opportunity! Joseph had done a loop, causing an intersecting blood trail. As the geese thunder down the straight line, Duck makes it to the front. When they loop around, he directs them back the way they came, then falls back again.
  3. Veer continues wandering the clinic. There are not many people about; perhaps another floor would be a better place to look for things to do. He walks down a very long flight of stairs into a basement. “Hello?” he calls out. @SpiritOfWrath @Calamity_Engine
  4. Blob isn’t really the best description. Swarm is probably better, though they moves like a blob, sprouting pseudopods and channeling their segments through tendrils. They catch the fork, which sticks to the rust colored dodecahedrons that make up its body. Each the size of a small marble, they quickly shift to cover the form. “Thank you. I still need a plant and the things I forgot, but I do not need more food now. It would still be good, but I do not need it.” “I am going to walk with the not-alive people over there. Do you need me to stay so you can talk?”
  5. Nick tries to get in the way of the shadows. “Stop it, we’re trying to have a peaceful conversation.”
  6. The blob, who still does not remember their name, perks up. “May I eat that? Or do you need it? Many not-alive people need their food, but not for eating. It is strange.”
  7. “That wasn’t what I got from your report…” Nick turns to the orb (@The Stormfather). “May I hear the terms of your offer to this one? If he offended you, we can try to make up for it.”
  8. “I’m confused. What job do I have now? Did the Nightmaw coordinator get eaten again?” Magic calls the elevator with its feet, then ruffles its feathers about how demeaning that is.
  9. “Why was it attacking you, anyway? I thought you said you just came back when you saw it.”
  10. “But why are you visiting me? I’m just an organizer for the prey. Shouldn’t you be talking to a GM or something?” Meanwhile: Magic reaches the GM HQ island, and swoops down towards the elevator.
  11. “I’d told you attacking it was a bad idea.” “Who, or what, is the One?” @Ancient Elantrian @J. Magi, Nick gave you both xenosuits, right?
  12. @Dragonheir Magic flies above the water, the lab coat clutched in his talons. The aviar takes a perfectly direct route towards Third’s heir, Fourth.
  13. “I will rephrase. I do not eat the same food you do. I only know how to find it where I am from.” “If the small not alive person there” - the blob points at Timothie the duck - “will not mind, I will come too. I do not know how much help I will be. But I will try.”
  14. Alvar walks over; that bandit seems intact enough to surrender and tell others how difficult it would be to rob the tiny caravan. “It’s a minor slime acid. Those get dangerous when they’re older, but if you wipe it off now, maybe you won’t even have scars. Drop your weapons and maybe I’ll help you. Of course, you did shoot me...”
  15. The translator translates the duckish. “I need to find a normal plant. One from where I am from. Or the ground there. The other not-alive people say that it has very small plants, which they think is useful. It is normal for me.” The blob is relatively still, packed into a geodesic dome. “I also need food that is not a plant, but not very much right now. What I need is more nodes, because something exploded me. I lost memories, and will have to forget more, soon. The not-alive people say they need things that were alive to build more parts of them, too, but it does not work the same.”
  16. Nick probably would be blushing if that was a thing his reconstructed body was able to do. “Um. Thank you? I think you might be delirious. Because even if I did, I’m wearing a full coverage xenosuit. I do think that we designed it well, though. Anyway, yeah, I’m rambling. Blood loss, delirious. Yeah.”
  17. Duck internally sighs. Is ‘play dead’ really so hard to understand? He still charges Joseph, though. Might as well make his death quick.
  18. The translator relays the message in both English and Ferrian (which is based around magnetic fields, because there are visible to the Ferrians. It doesn’t work so well for humans, hence the translator). “That is unfortunate. Do you need anything? If I cannot find food, I should explore or sleep.”
  19. “We teleported again, but you passed out from blood loss. The ominous chanting is from an apparently angry glowing orb. It chased after one of the new people, so now it’s here. Oh yeah, there are two new people.”
  20. The translator stops after around a hundred basic words. “[This should form a starting vocabulary. If you use an unfamiliar word, I will ask you to repeat, then explain it.]” The blob then asks, “Do you have any food?”
  21. Duck panics slightly. The human did welcome him, but they’d both be executed if he didn’t. “I understand.” Duck flaps at the human aggressively, pecking at his face while avoiding the eyes. Within the storm of flapping wings, he tries to conceal the way he cocks his head to the side, sticks out his tongue, and closes his eyes. Then, he rams the human, hoping he got the message.
  22. Alvar twists, the crossbow bolt hitting his left arm rather than his heart. He almost rushes the bandit, but stays back and tosses a glass jar instead. A dangerously green gel is inside, the remains of the forest slime.
  23. “We can kill them later. Right now they can help us.”
