  1. Veer picks up the guns. “All of you, we’re going upstairs to see if the clinic has some sort of cell. We can do this the easy way, or we can do it the hard way.”
  2. Alvar gets close to not saying anything and simply storming off. Something beyond his external aggressive disinterest moves him to say, “I miss my parents, too.”
  3. “I think Glinte can do that. Are you feeling well enough to stand yet? Do you have any ideas?”
  4. “Well, good for you. At least there’s nobody to bother you out in the woods. Usually, I mean.” Alvar sounds annoyed about something.
  5. Alvar drops the herbs in his arms, keeping only the ones he needs to do the task himself. There is a better herb for the task in the pile, but the one he selected would work as an antiseptic. “So do I. I’ve lived off the land before, you know.”
  6. Alvar shrugs, but is smiling broadly, displaying his multiple canines and bleeding other teeth. Unless the man knew how to neutralize slime acid (flame, cold, or salt could do it easily, but the solution of “stick your hands into a fire” was neither well known nor intuitive), it simply wouldn’t come off. His flesh would corrode eventually, but with the low potency acid, it would be days of agony before that happened. He bandages the glancing crossbow bolt wound, then recovers his gathered herbs. “I’m not used to fighting people; monsters usually don’t shoot at you. I should get some practice in…”
  7. Cole tries to arrange the tent into a sort of coat. It doesn’t work great; he can fix it later.
  8. “If I can find a river or lake, I can probably make enough hydrogen for neutral buoyancy. If you carry someone, do they come with you? And if you’re moving when you teleport, do you stop? Because that could save you and one other person, maybe two depending upon your range. I think we can get out of this alive.”
  9. “Interesting… and then what will the One do? What sort of offerings does the One want?” Nick turns to @SpiritOfWrath and @TwinSouls. “You two: see if you can find a significant water source. Depending upon how much time we have, I might be able to stop us from falling.” he thinks for a second. “When you both teleport, is it momentum canceling? If so, you should teleport into the air or on to the ground just as we’re about to hit; that will stop you from being hurt. Can either of you bring people or things?”
  10. “What did he actually do? The man isn’t very coherent when he’s scared silly and talking about imaginary dragons. The prince? I’m not sure he’d care very much; he’d probably fire them, at worst. He’s not a very important prince, though; I think he has several siblings closer to the throne. Have either of you two met Mead Bush yet?” Veer looks around. “I’ll need all four of you to come with me; I think that is the least likely way for some to need to be killed. Veer picks up the guns then begins to walk up the stairs. “Trust me, I can move you if needed. It’s simply slow and unpleasant.” @SpiritOfWrath
  11. The guns fall sideways, stopping at Veer’s feet. “I’ll be keeping those. And I’ll organize the negotiations. I do know a prince; he can probably adjudicate. I’d imagine there is someone here that can detect lies or read minds. And we should have it in the pickleball court, so nobody can kill each other.” “There are likely more like him; we should put a stop to it at the source.”
  12. “That is a very interesting device. It won’t help you, though.” Veer puts the spellsteel circlet on his head. “Don’t kill him yet. We’ll have to interrogate him to find the others.” Using his powers, Veer redirects the bullet into the ground. “Both of you, drop the devices or I will make the next shot turn around and kill you.”
  13. Nick swipes his hand through the orb, trying to get its attention. “What did you say about gifts? And why would the island be falling?” @The Stormfather
  14. “Ah. So there is an edge.” “Charlie… were you the nice one, or the one who cuts off fingers? He didn’t tell me about the business - I assume you work for the king - but he did explain that someone cut his finger off. It was mixed with tales of chess playing dragons, but I think the world would probably be better off without you.” Veer takes out a silver circlet with prismatic reflections and spins it around his finger menacingly. “I’m shocked he can get that much. Gold is pretty, I suppose, but it’s not strong enough to be useful.”
  15. Before he hits the ground, Veer looks straight at him and he hovers into the air. “Back to the infirmary, I suppose. I should get the spellsteel rash checked out, anyway.”
  16. “What are you two doing down here, anyway? I was looking for something to do, if the magic councilors still aren’t showing up.”
  17. “Ok… were they real dragons, or were they painkiller hallucination dragons? These sound like unpleasant people, I should go teach them a lesson. Is L.A. across the Edge from here?”
  18. Veers entire concept of the conversation suddenly shifts. “Wait… are there dragons where you are from, or did these people do something to you?”
  19. “My dragons did, because of the Dragonwar. They said they would come back, though. Who is Timothy?”
  20. Nick stretches out his arm, trying to help everyone get to the same side. Then, realizing he’s being stupid, he decides to make the people who can teleport move instead, hopping across the worrisome crack himself.
  21. “Apparently the dragons here are not very magic, otherwise they would have left to make a new world. I ate dinner with one yesterday.”
  22. “L. A. … sounds a bit like the Kingdom to me, but I suppose it’s over the Edge. Do you have dragons, too?”
  23. “That is probably not good for us; not everyone is incorporeal, you know. What did you mean about gifts and trades?” Nick looks around, hoping he can find water before they hit the ground.
  24. “Nice to meet you. What do you mean by a rash.” Veer examines his skin. “Oh no. That’s spellsteel. This is bad.” “You’re from the Kingdom, then? The Lawless is much better, if you can avoid the exiled criminals. I’ll give you a schedule for my village.”
  25. Nick tries to shine a light down the crack, then remembers his flashlight burnt up in a volcano.
