    I know. I signed up but then backed out because I’d never played slay the spire. There should be a three, but you are wrong.

    The paper is normal, the lettering is not. It’s jagged and looks almost like it was written in blood. It doesn’t do anything, though. More papers fall in front of other people around. Bacon the Bard himself has thousands of sheets of paper appear high above his head, swirling down like a mildly dangerous tornado. @xinoehp512 Oh. The be should be backwards - you should kill my autocorrect for me. And I messed up in a few other ways. The corrected message is “esirprus a rof semit eerht bacon the bard yas ot tsrif wht eb”, written in ketchup with jagged letters.

    Rebus nods. “I stand corrected, though I believe you wrote a song about Bacon in an unrelated incident.” Rebus (prime) waves a hand forward and says “Mellon”. His utility fog disassembles part of the wall, leaving a passageway. A paper reading “esirprus a rof semit bacon the bard yas ot tsrif eht be” flutters to the ground in front of him.

    Rebus nods. “Indeed. If I recall, your Author was screaming for his Author to appear. Regardless, I hope everyone ignores the papers. Uh oh, Gillian Cut.” Sagerian picks a piece of paper off the table. “Can you read this?”

    “You did? I suppose before the song Bacon simply showed up. Or do I misunderstand?” Rebus picks up a piece of paper. “This is an odd development. I’m not allowed to tell you about it, just like how I’m not allowed to interact with my Author’s other character directly.”

    Rebus (prime) nods. “How did they get past it? I assume the point of our guided tour here is to emulate them.” “I concur.” Rebus appears. “I have a plan, I think. And I need to do something before my Author - uh oh.” Numerous papers flutter to the ground in places around the Thread. They say the following, written in an unsettling reddish brown substance with jagged, barely legible letters: “esirprus a rof semit bacon the bard yas ot tsrif eht be”.

    Oh, this might be worse. I’ll deal with it later, though. Ordered light beings are called Luxsprites and they’re all dead but one. You can talk to @Ookla the Arbiter about them, if you want.

    If only Bat had a teleporter… maybe they confiscated it, but it would still shock anyone who tried to touch it. Also, either I’m paranoid or you’re doing some great foreshadowing.

    Rebus (prime) nods. “Yes. Unfortunately, I cannot do that by myself.” He waves a hand and a small rod materializes from the air, constructed by nanomachines. It flies off at an impressive speed.

    "Yes, you could, though there are plenty of other people who can teleport. You seem to be one of them." Rebus (prime) looks around, then walks towards the building.

    Cole stumbles back, then leaps into the air over it. “A frying pan?”

    Not having anything better to do, he steps through the portal. As he goes through, there is a quiet clatter.

    Alvar narrows his eyes. “Perhaps they aren’t loyal.”

    Rebus (prime) laughs. “Is that bad? My soul was a mess before.”

    “There is no reason to use telepathy on one who can read minds, but I know little I am allowed to tell. You could investigate.” Yeah. I should have done more homework, both today and yesterday. “That is likely for the best.”

    “That’s good. I’m a bit bored, and worried that if I don’t do something my Author will start a plot about a fever dream version of Bacon. Or the mysterious ball of darkness, the Time Being, Capt’n Exposition, or any number of crazy ideas he’s just had.”

    Rebus smiles. “Hello, Bat. How are you?”

    “Or the greedy. But that is a fact with any sort of magic, and I do not see how helping people, even if people might take advantage of you, is a problem.”

    “That is against the rules, I believe, but that hasn’t stopped me yet.” He grins. “In the meantime, my Author will probably make more fever dream characters. They’re distracting, in my opinion.” Rebus appears, having no context but interested anyway. “Do you want my help?”

    Rebus waves. “It’s a good thing we’re out of time, because I am as well.” Then he disappears for the time being, escaping the Time Being (who is up for grabs, just saying).

    Cole runs at the left side, holding a frying pan and spinning in circles so he can ward off any attack.

    “It’s true; we’ll have to choose. We’ll get lots of time to think, luckily. Your Author - and mine - will seemingly be absent.”

    Cole, too, staggers backwards. He looks at the darkness with Clamsight, planks falling to the ground.
