The Longest Thread (Misadventures)

Wait, she has two Plotblades? A glowing cloud appeared, warbling in anger, “This is a safe place! Violence is forbidden legally, technologically, mentally, Narratively, and magically!”- 111859 replies

Rebel darted forwards, pressing the advantage with another swing. “You cannot fight me.” “I do have one, which we can scan. Maybe it matches the theories, or maybe it prompts new ones. But if we want to experiment on one, we should use another. I know of Nonsense, though perhaps that blade is not the best for finding patterns.”- 111859 replies

That’s pretty balanced, actually. It’d be worse for Rebus, especially taking into account what his Plotblade would do to him. I’ll get to the superhero thing after school, perhaps.- 111859 replies

Oh dear. I just realized what would happen to Rebus. Hmmm. (Also, wouldn’t rewinding the guy result in him getting the Plotblade back?) I can run this, I suppose. I’ll simply need to decide if this should be normal, deconstructed, or reconstructed. Rebel shoved most of them back with utility fog, summoning Cursed Treasure and squaring up with one. He propelled himself forwards, attempting to poke the guard and hoping it would work. “I’ve heard having two Plotblades causes problems, but I can probably get a quasi-Plotblade relatively easily. Maybe once Regression has been used I can get it; that thing would be better off not existing, and I suspect pointing that out can get it placed somewhere safe. Ordinarily, they’d probably go to Sequence or Onyx, but Sequence is certainly not a safe choice.” Alright. Did any chips of Morditite crack off the blade in that collision? And he’s just left the Plotblade behind?- 111859 replies

Well, there goes our plan. We can probably make a new one. Everet nodded, satisfied. “Alright. I guess we wait for the actual superheroes. They do something, I think.” Regression is kinda terrifying, now that I think about it. I read back to before Bat and Beosta’s character developments; the group would be crippled if those two were reverted.- 111859 replies

Nope. It’s not my original idea either, though I think I mentioned this addition. “I don’t get to talk a lot either. Do you want to talk more?” Everet kinda stood there, looking for Torrent so she can’t surprise them.- 111859 replies

It would have, though… that’s another hint for you. The darkness shrunk more. “That is a good name. Thank you.” “Looks like a robot monster. Do you have any water or something? Sometimes that does it.”- 111859 replies

The darkness shrinks a bit. “I need them to help me magic. But I don’t want to be there either. Me-but-not wanted to eat me, said that would fix things.”- 111859 replies

Everet dropped to the ground, prepared to send his cape out to protect Soliel at a moments notice. Nope! It is building off of someone else’s things in TLT, but it’s not NameIess’s. (The orb turned out to be a backup copy of Nameless the Narrator) The thing in the shadow shivered, and the area of warm darkness expanded. It sounded sad, and a little scared. “A forest, I think. They banished me…”- 111859 replies

Uh… I’d thought you had an idea, but let’s give it the ability to absorb strikes, then use that energy later. So it’s hard for the opponent to move it, but the wielder can move it easily and even cause a magical burst of speed and force. It wouldn’t be charged yet, but it’ll probably have some secondary effects like magical durability and cool things we think of that could help.- 111859 replies

Rebel’s plume of utility fog reached into the room, locking people’s legs together and arms to their sides. It wouldn’t be infallible, but it would give him an advantage. “Alright. I’ll see if I can get a Morditite sample or a rabbit so we can begin.” The drone detected some sort of scanning, but nothing happened. Alright, I’ll be back after swim practice.- 111859 replies

Ah, because it’s water… taking the necklace off would help - if she knew how to walk and breathe, that is. Everet flew and ran intermittently to her side. “Are you alright?” “Alright. Let’s attack.” Rebel’s utility fog, now built up significantly, surrounded him. It ate through the door almost all the way, then blasted through the remaining material and into the room beyond. “That makes it even more likely, Nameless. Let’s see how he takes this…” The armor is relatively active, though clearly damaged. Tron lights flickered on and off, though the actually lights seemed fully functional. The small object turned out to be a large red button, reading, “Turn off teleportation shielding, then press. Honestly not a trap.”- 111859 replies

Everet blushed. “I’m not that young.” Rebus stood in the corner, eating a brownie. Rebel nodded. He almost thought that he, too, might be corrupted, but he didn’t, or perhaps couldn’t. “Alright,” he said, walking to the door. “Would using you help you gain power, or shall we attempt the surprise attack again?” “Ah, the god person?” Rebus guessed, “I’m pretty sure that was Narrator-level power - though claiming to be above the Authors in power is ridiculous. You might be family, Balitan. Evil twins are a known literary phenomenon; I have a few myself, with varying degrees of relatedness and inversion. From what I’ve heard of Malevolence’s family, though, you’re probably better off.” That’s a decent comic - definitely makes it clearer. I like the last panel. The blade shredded through much of the armor, but the Nullite plating offers more resistance. As Malevolence teleported away, nanomachines gathered up the Nullite and any stray chips of Morditite, then turned off the teleportation suppression and teleported away as well. The remains of the armor laid on the ground in several pieces, the right arm still holding Rebus’s sword. Rebus’s body, though, was nowhere to be seen; the armor was empty except for a small object in the breastplate.- 111859 replies

I’d considered just having the first sentence, but I decided clarity was more important. Everet hovered over, knocking into the door frame and dropping back to the ground to walk normally. “How do you manage it? I can’t even get down a hallway in the air.”- 111859 replies
