  1. "You can't, actually - the best you can do is #@$%^. But regardless, I solved Bat's very objection. I've done something awful without hurting anyone." He grinned mockingly. "You simply brought it upon yourself."
  2. The reflection reached out, seeming tentative even though it mirrored her actions. Oh yeah. Hmmm - I suppose Rebus's new plan will have to wait.
  3. Rebus shrugged, then left. He watched Bat and Tam fight with amusement, glad his plan had worked. Then, realizing he could sow yet more conflict, he teleported to Cricket (@TwinStorm). On the mirror behind her, she looked more hopeful, younger, and a bit afraid, as if worried she would leave. This mirror lacked a reflection of the contemptuous reflection.
  4. Rebus, having planted a tracker while he was being thrown to the ground, walked through the Labyrinth in the direction of Ice.
  5. Rebus didn’t actually care too much, but it’d probably be worth it at least to try. @Halcyon The Only, Rebus in the caverns hovered in the air using utility fog, teleporting away the rock separating him from those trapped in the lower caverns. The mirror is a mirror, weird as it is. The reflection of her thus said shut up while she was. The reflection of her in the first mirror (which is now behind her, since she turned around) is not visible in the second mirror.
  6. Plotblades were similarly enhanced, though their actual composition was vague. Perhaps someone who had been responsible for the Plot plot would know. “So shall we fight? I could use a break from messing with people.” Rebus copied himself, traveling through the labyrinth to claim that planet as his. It was odd, how poorly his technology was working in the maze. True, balance was important, but random features mysteriously ceasing to function didn’t make any sense.
  7. Rebus looked a bit surprised. “I thought that had been the group I rescued. Regardless, they should find their ways to safety - I can offer.” The mirror said it with her, for obvious reasons. The mirror behind her was not in the mirror.
  8. “Fairly well, actually. We got them evacuated, and though we did more damage than I would have liked, I think the only fatality was the person who decided to sell out and advised Utility to imprison people’s families.” The reflection seemed to know her feelings. Weak.
  9. “The metal one matches some of my motifs, though my theming is quite honestly all over the place. Sticking to one thing like you is probably a better strategy.” Unfortunately for Ice, even normal metal could break ice pretty easily, and a Plotblade was decidedly not normal metal. Of course, magic could get around such silly things as material properties and crystal structures.
  10. Alright. There was, of course, another mirror. Her facial expression was wrong, in this one - distorted into a sneer.
  11. Rebus nodded, teleporting the two of them back to Tam. He also stayed behind, fighting a hologram of Utility in case anyone was watching. For Bat, or for the various citizens? Alright. Let’s see - alone and helpless, aggressive, just like her parents, and disgraced but free. Then maybe I can throw in some other multiple-choice scenarios. The mirror mended itself, going back to the way it was. The mirror behind her, though, was certainly not the way it had been before.
  12. Very true. Yeah - I kinda stopped doing things other than TLT, though I’m planning to get back in to the community and stuff. I’m not nearly as good a Magnificent Bastard as Rebus - he benefits greatly from the prep time and lack of morals, as well as his magic powers. I might reference the AI box experiment, actually - that’s sorta what he does.
  13. Hmm, I need a title. I might just go back to “one lab accident away from being a supervillain”.
  14. Rebus summoned his Plotblade again, though it was still impaired by the Labyrinth. “Do we want to fight here, or move to somewhere more epic?”
  15. Rebus nodded slightly. “Alright - thank you for your help. My offer still stands, but otherwise let’s go bring you back to Tam. Guilt tripping her would be amusing, and perhaps useful.” The mirror began to fracture where she touched it, closing in on her. Meat is about to make her become, observe, and interact with a bunch of alternate versions of herself. Some will be character development inducing. Some will be just plain odd. So yes, backstory and/or personality aspects to emphasize could be helpful. I’m not actually sure how I’ll run this, given that I don’t have her characterization down. Unrelatedly, do you want to have the people do anything on the moon? I can have Rebus show up and show them around or something. I can also provide that character development for Bat, perhaps.
  16. The reflection, being a reflection, did the same. It did seem a little different from her - slightly younger, perhaps. Rebus made sure that there was not, teleporting any stragglers to his moon. He asked first, of course. Honestly, you've done what I needed.
  17. It was Rebus, of course. He'd gladly make people suffer for their Authors. Rebus's lab coat was smoldering, and he had mirrored sunglasses on, but otherwise looked no worse for wear.
