  1. I made two new tiles for my display case The radiant one took a little over an hour, the Bondsmiths one was much faster to laser cut. Silver and gold pigment on the green one. Bondsmiths is just graphite powder.
  2. I like the motion in the Kal with stormlight. Was it an art class, or were you not paying attention?
  3. I'm actually very excited about this idea. I'm going to make ones with a slot where I can slide a tile in and out. then I can have custom bookends that I can switch out whenever I want.
  4. I haven't tried it, but there are files for that on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1590572483/3d-book-end-bundle-lasercut-bookend?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=laser+book+end&ref=sr_gallery-1-2&pro=1&dd=1&search_preloaded_img=1&organic_search_click=1
  5. It's pretty easy to push it around with a plastic paint scraper and the surface under the outer layer is rough and holds the pigment well. I just pour a little over the engraved area and smear it around and scraped it off. Running the scraper over the top will leave a nice even layer. Then I dabbed at it a bit with a microfiber cloth to get the tough spots in the center.
  6. I used the SVG file https://coppermind.net/wiki/File:Cosmere_symbol.svg with the library's laser cutter to etch this tile. Applied a powdered pigment to get the gold and silver colors.
  7. It was my first one so there was some learning curve involved on creating a graphic file for a lase cutter. But on my second try it was about 37 minutes to print. Than I rubbed it with charcoal, sprayed it. Applied gold pigment, sprayed it. Rubbed on more charcoal, sprayed it. So not that much time really, assuming I get the second one right on the first try. Most libraries have these things and classes where they make cutting boards and stuff.
  8. I made this sign with a laser cutter at my library. I used gold pigment and charcoal to get the coloring. Pictured with my new 1st/1st or WoR.
  9. I used gold pigment and charcoal to get the black and gold coloring and a clear gloss spray to seal.

  10. I used this graphic from the coppermind: https://coppermind.net/wiki/File:Bridge_Four_Badge.svg But added a gradient to it to make the depth of the carving variable.
