so i've fallen terribly and unrequitedly in love with cold waters and whales and ice bergs
i've been to antarctica like a year ago and i want to go back and then stay there forever watching whale tails and pointing out desmonema glaciale from zodiac boats and fishing little bits of ice out of the water
its so magical
i like seeing sunlight glint off of icebergs and tracing the dips and almost pop-it fidget toy patterns in them, and the way they turn the water near them teal
i like how when the wind dies down, it's not that cold at all and i think i could take a nap, all smushed up against the sunlight and the stone and the snow
i like the whales, and i hate that i was sleeping on the expedition ship when a whole humpback whale decided to swim directly underneath the zodiac my mom was on
i like the rocky beach with the swimming penguins and the small icebergs that i could sit on top of, and the gentle waves that i splashed around in
i like how it snowed on christmas morning and it was the first time i've ever seen that
i kind of like the 30 meter waves that rock me like i'm in a washing machine on the way in and out of the peninsula (i did not like being sea sick for a whole day though)
i like the penguin stamp on my passport, and i like the penguin that followed me around for an entire half hour
i don't like the penguins as a whole though those little gremlins are loud and smelly and i swear they want to steal the lifevests they are all criminals by nature
like y'all don't understand, the best part of antarctica is not the penguins they are loud and annoying they remind me of my little sisters and i don't know why there's so many of them in the first place
