  1. Allomantic Pewter strengthens the body (among other things). Vin thinks that not only her muscles are strengthened, but her skin and bones are too. Now I wonder if this aspect of Allomantic Pewter can be used to become invincible for a time. Regular flaring isn’t close to the Allomantic strength needed to become invincible. However someone with duralumin (and a large enough amount of pewter) should be able to do it. Simply burn all of the pewter at once when you’re going to get hit and your body should be protected. I think Vin already did this at the assembly fight in the Well of Ascension. She headbutted a Thug with such strength that (even with his pewter burning) his head exploded. Hitting your head with such force against someone else should hurt, enough to break things or at least go unconscious. As this didn’t happen I think she became invincible (for a second or two). To become invincible for a while you need to do the following: Be born a Mistborn / collect the appropriate spikes and spike yourself. Swallow a lot of pewter and some duralumin. burn both metals just as something (sword/arrow/bullet) hits you. This way you’ll be protected from the object, although it must be noted that your invincibility will only last a second. What do you guys think of this theory? Is it plausible?
  2. Your right here, that’s better. A color code is nice I suppose, but I think that’s a little over the top, a little to much effort, for me. Your right about me saying the same thing thrice, but I felt more like; hey nice threads, but they don’t really matter to my point here. And so I stated my point again. Online chatting can get a little confusing sometimes lmao. Once again I’m sorry for sounding rude, I didn’t mean it that way. Alder is right here. It was more like, when a person does the math, instead of when YOU do the math. It wasn’t a personal attack. I love how preservation, who cares so much about preserving things and people, thought of this plan but couldn’t bring himself to hit Elend with a knife. That’s a good example, if there isn’t something else playing, of how a vessel is changed by a shard, aligning to the shard’s intent. Oh wow, I never knew that WoB existed, nice though, I wonder when we’ll see (/ hear of because it’s destroyed) the planet.
  3. Yeah that’s the problem with online chatting. You can’t accurately read someone’s tone. I did read the threads, and they were interesting, the Catacendre was really horrible. I meant no harm/anger, I’m sorry if you experienced it that way.
  4. Well, no indeed it wasn’t confirmed, he did however say that it’s close, and a couple million more or less then 100 doesn’t really matter for the true horror of the Catacendre.
  5. There’s a wob somewhere that says that about 100 million people lived in the Final Empire. So yeah… do the math and 200 000 people survived…
  6. Like the title states, the sheer horror of the Catacendre just struck me. Around a hundred million people lived in the Final Empire. About 40 000 Terris people lived at the pits, and a fifth of the originators were Terris. While there would have been more Terris people, there couldn’t have been that much more. So a little over 200 000 people survived the Catacendre. Wow, that’s more then 99 million deaths… For reference, 75 million people died in ww2.
  7. Well personally I think ‘airships’ would work better then aircraft. This is due to how most people call them airships and while technically aircraft, most people don’t think of them that way. Also I think that the general page shouldn’t be called Malwish, let it just be airships or Southern Scadrian airships. I say this because we have and are going to have a lot of airships which aren’t Malwish, while it is useful to put these on the page.
  8. Oh lmao, I thought you wanted to make a page only for this ship called Malwish Warship. But you intend to make a broad Malwish Warship page with this ship inside of it. I think that’s a fine idea, although we don’t have that much information. I think we should definitely do this, but only after we have some more information. I definitely agree with what you said here, but, like stated before, I also think it a good idea to make a general warship page once we have sufficient information. Anyway, if staff agrees I will begin making a page called Admiral Daal’s warship.
  9. Well, first of all, We don’t know for certain that this ship looks the same as a normal warship. Yes wax recognises it, but (looking at navies/air forces in our world) they likely have different classes/types of ships. Looking at our world, it’s easy to recognise a ship as a warship (they tend to share a couple of properties), but warships don’t always look alike (take for example a destroyer and an aircraft carrier, both are warships but they look nothing alike, while most people can easily recognise them as warships). Yes most ships of that ‘type’ will probably look alike, but we don’t know what type it is, so we can’t make a page or sub section on a greater page about it. I also think that this ship is likely to be different enough from the regular warship that we couldn’t name the page ‘Malwish Warship’. It is after all a command ship, and one for Daal The Primary at that. The terms ‘warship’ or ‘aircraft’ are simply to diverse to name the page ‘Malwish Warship’. I believe we don’t have other examples of this ‘type’ of ship, the only other warship is the hunters ship, which is behind several decades of engineering and is from an entirely different nation, we also don’t know if it is the same type of warship. I stick to my names of ‘Daal’s ship/warship’ (we’d have to choose between ship or warship) or Daal’s former ship/warship’ (same situation) This does lead me to a project with greater ambition. An airship page, with different types (warship/ tradeship) from different nations (Hunters and Malwish). Sadly I don’t think we have enough information for a proper airship page. Then again, I might look into it.
  10. I’m gonna wake this thread up again, have you guys settled on a name? Can I add a page called Admiral Daal’s ship?
  11. I understand, but the general description could be less focused on the metallic arts and more like (for steel) ‘steel generally repels objects’ (something like that). I understand we don’t have that much information, but it could always be more global (doesn’t ‘start’ with the metallic arts). The Aluminum page should (in my opinion) be far more global then it is currently, like you said. I understand that we don’t have that much information on it (outside the metallic arts), but you could switch that information around a little, making the page have the same information, but making it look a lot more general (rather then metallic arts focused). Top: general ‘effect’ (pushing on things). Then what it does more specifically (Allomancy, fabrials, aethers etc) in their own ‘sub parts’ for lack of a better term (the things you can reveal/hide). Personally I don’t think that just because there is a lot of information we should put a short description up above. If you’re a regular fan you should still just read the metallic arts part (whichever art you want to read about), it’s not that dense. If you really want to know what steel does in Allomancy it isn’t a problem to scroll down, but having it twice in the page is a little to much (at least having it twice is unnecessary for me). It can be helpful, but we could also put this short ‘description’ without to much technical terms on the metallic arts part of the page itself (in simple terms an Allomancer burning steel can… etc) before we get into the technical parts. This way the page looks a little more global, but still explains what the metal does in the metallic arts in simple terms. Putting it as the first information on the metallic arts part still makes it easy to read, you won’t need to read that entire wall of text. I agree with what you say about the aluminum page I agree with most of what you say here, and it’s good to give some examples on it being magically inert, but I don’t think you should name it’s functions in large magic systems. This is because of the same reasons mentioned above, it makes the page feel more global. You could still place a short and easy description at the top of the corresponding ‘area’. That’s alright, but once we have proper confirmation (from Brandon/perhaps Khriss) we should begin making some changes. I just wanted to bring this all to you guy’s attention and have a good discussion about it. Thanks.
  12. it’s unlikely to be 5 broams.
  13. I noticed that most of the metals on the coppermind (tin, steel, iron, pewter etc) are very focused on the metallic arts. An example of this: We know that specific metals have a special place in the cosmere, (steel pushes something away while iron pulls on something etc) which is seen beyond the metallic arts (in aethers etc). I think it is a bad thing that the pages for these metals are so focused on the metallic arts. I think it is time to be more neutral, to have this information be on the metallic arts part of the page rather then in the introduction ( the first ‘area’). What do you guys think?
  14. We simply can’t calculate it accurately, this is because we don’t know how much they need. Take the regular Roman peasant in our world. They used far less then the average American (poor person) does. Those Romans bought clothing only it fell off of their backs and was completely unusable. The average person today, even if he’s poor, needs a lot more then those Roman peasants. We simply don’t know the standard of living for an average Hallandren family.
  15. Ahh, that’s a good explanation, the modern southerners probably just assume the sovereign made the Metalborn but yeah, thanks.
  16. I was rereading BoM and came across a very interesting sentence. BoM: Chapter 21 I mean we know that allomancers are rare, these southerners never burned lerasium, but still, they have a piece of preservation inside them. Apparently they somehow acquired Metalborn after the Catacendre. Did Kelsier do this? What do you guys think of this? How could Metalborn suddenly come into existence? Please let me know your thoughts on this.
  17. Alright I can live with that. Although personally I do think that every confirmed/named nation should get its own page, I can live with it, at least until Era three gets us more information. Thanks for the good discussion though.
  18. Yeah you’re right my bad, I still disagree though. A stub still gives a more accurate view of the world, as well as info that something exists. Actually, As mentioned in BoM there are five ‘peoples’ in the south. Wax adds in TLM that there are five different nations in the south. I think it’s safe to assume these are the five peoples. TLM: Of the five different nations that made up the Southern Continent, the Malwish—these people—were the ones Wax had interacted with the most. They were the only nation that had sent an ambassador to Elendel. Where is it said that the other peoples force the fallen to wear these masks? I think it possible that they are indeed cultures, but it would be a large coincidence that there are also five nations, and the Malwish are one of these. Wax don’t seem like unreliable to me, at least not in TLM. Indeed we aren’t 100% sure that the five nations are these five peoples, but it is likely. We do know there are five nations. I think it’s safe to assume nation isn’t used as a caste system, it would seem weird in all the times we’ve heard of southern nations. I’m BoM wax might be mistaken, but in TLM? No way, that’s six years of encounters. I think your right though, it could be misleading, it’s unlikely though. Your right here, we’re not sure. Indeed it is likely more complicated then I first thought.
  19. The rim kingdoms do have pages (unless I’m mistaken). I made a writing mistake in my previous post here, I’m meant that all named nations should get their own page. I do realise how many nations we have, nevertheless the goal of the coppermind is to contain all the information, it doesn’t truly matter if they have their own page or separate pages. It my opinion every named kingdom should have its own page. This would make the Malwish and hunters and maskless and fallen get pages but not the other two kingdoms. I think it’s not the Ideal to put things together to have easier access to information instead of having a nice coppermind where everything that should, gets it’s own page. I agree with you that it is a balance, I do not agree however that unless the nation has a story impacting event it doesn’t get its own page,
  20. With nations? Because it feels wrong to me to give some nations pages while other nations are collected into one page. Regardless, I think every nation in the cosmere should have their own page, regardless of size or amount of information.
  21. We have a map of T’Telir (not to scale, but useful for relative locations) and my questions was: how much can we read into this thing, it is an in world map so keep that in mind. It is useful for relative locations, as already mentioned in the text underneath the tapestry. We see ships in the tapestry, these have three sails which are shaped like triangles, can we assume this is actually canon, can we put this into the T’Telir/Hallandren pages? I’m bassicly asking how much can we read into the map and put it onto the coppermind.
  22. This is a hard one, it’s his former ship, but yeah those names seem fine to me. ‘Daal’s former warship/ship’ or your suggestions.
  23. I think this is a good one, either Realmatics or worlds, although worlds could eventually present its own problems The allomantic grenades, which have multiple variants. I’d also like to say that airships themselves should be broken down, we know of two systems, the weight changing and the steel pushing of the fans. You just said it yourself lmao, anyway I think they’re in the same class, both have to be primed (the hunters ship in BoM needs to be primed). Also how sure are we that the fabrial in SotD was an A-Bronze fabrial, I don’t remember it being stated in the text, though please correct me if I’m wrong here, it could’ve been any sort of fabrial capable of detecting life or investiture etc. Nope, but that’s part of what makes it fun.
  24. I disagree with you, The south itself has very little information which won’t be in other pages (malwish hunters etc). Furthermore I don’t think many people will search up that term, I think your more likely to search up scadrial or one of the southern nations. Even if you do search it up, and you don’t find it you will probably immediately search up scadrial, the second best place.h There is some, but not that much. We do get a lot of the individual nations, but we would have to discuss wether or not we want those together in the malwish consortium page or have their own pages. Well we only have four of them named, but even if we don’t have much information we have to give them a page, either they all get one or none of them get one. I agree with your first thought, just put it onto the scadrial page and balance that between north and south (that would be the history but not the culture). Like you said that page is very focused on the north, and I think this is a bad thing, we should balance this. We don’t have to have a southern Scadrian page, it could just be a redirect to Scadrial#The South. I don’t think we should make the Malwish Consortium the southern scadrial page, after all it is a nation, we don’t know how it will be in era three, imagine it collapses in era three and we would have to change it again. I do agree, we should try to make north and south work together, instead of having them be it’s own thing.
