Ash shook, but finally opened her eyes, there was lucidity in her eyes. "A... a dream?"

Rex took her hand off his shoulder, sitting still, staring at the ground.

Ash was thrashing wildly, still asleep.

"....If that's what you want...." Rex said, a small waver in her voice. she looked away.

"Force you not to hurt yourself? Yes! And I will to! That isn't your decision, I'm sorry."

"It's not your decision! I'm my own person!" I have been... or... I was? "No one will take that from me ever again..." Rex added to herself.

Rex swore at him softly, covering her face. "I'll damn well take that chance, Sir."

"You can't be serious! Cinder? Maybe we're thinking of different people. I thought you were talking about miss 'you two are bad for each other, so i'ma build a wall' that Cinder?" Rex did an exaggerated high-pitched whiny voice when mimicking Cinder.

Ash shut her eyes, falling asleep without her usual trouble. She dreamed she was falling... falling into a deep, dark pit. She landed at the bottom, bones crunching on impact. Ash screamed as the sudden pain flooded through her body.

"I... I've been hurt before. It won't be anything new." She winced as a headache started.

"Daniel!" Rex's voice was frantic. "Don't talk like that! I need you! Please! ..." Rex trailed off as, once again, she started crying. Stupid emotions.....
