"I love you." Rex whispered, shutting her eyes before the tears overflowed.

She leaned into his chest. "Thank you." She said softly, tears coming to her eyes.

"Well, I'm supposed to stay, but, I'm not sure if this is the room they want me in right now... and, we need to make sure you can stay with me." Rex said, a slight smile touching her lips.

Rex leaned against him. "Where did the doctor go?" She asked.

Rex nodded slowly, still trying to grasp the fact that someone wanted her. "I want to be with you too." She whispered.

"You'd be dead." She said shortly. "I'd be to."

"How is this helping!" Rex exclaimed, pointing to her wounded hand.

"I just... Wouldn't you be happier with someone else? Someone who can support you? Give you what you need? My... My problems are keeping you from getting what you need, I think..." Rex said, looking at her hand, holding his.

Rex smiled at him, but there was a note of sadness in her eyes. "Ok."
