  1. The Mistborn Adventures Catagory means nothing to me w.r.t likelyhood of a series.

Infact I would say it is opposed to it.

Since "X adventures" is a way of saying "This is a stand alone novel set in the universe of X",

much like saying "A mistborn novel" vs saying "Mistborn Book 17"

If it were a standalone, it would be listed solely under it's own title, not under the umbrella title of a series.

Also, I'm pretty sure we have a quote somewhere confirming Alloy 2 in the upcoming releases. Does anyone have a link to that?

  2. As far as I can tell, Fathvell is a house that was made up for the Mistborn: The Inquisition RP here on the forum, which Brandon has apparently co-opted for his own nefarious purposes. Either that or it was mentioned off-handedly in one of the books and our fellow Sharders ran with it.

It's definitely a made-up name for MBI. I should know - I'm the one who came up with the name. If you check out my twitter conversation with the devs, it appears that Brandon may have co-opted the name on purpose. Which, if true, is incredibly, insanely awesome.

  3. The Alloy series definitely isn't part of the three trilogies, as was confirmed by Brandon at the release party. Currently, the Mistborn series looks like this:

    • The Original Trilogy - TFE, WoA, HoA
      • The Mistborn Adventures - Beginning with Alloy of Law, set 341 years later. Unknown number of volumes.

[*]The Second Trilogy - set in Scadrial's rough equivalent of our modern day

[*]The Third Trilogy - set in Scadrial's future. This will be a sci-fi trilogy in addition to fantasy, and will feature Hoid as a principal character.

  4. It depends on the manufacturer, and whether there's enough interest in them to make the cost worthwhile, but those are definitely a possibility if enough people want them. Would pins/stickers/etc be something y'all would be interested in?

  5. Don't forget, guys, we also have to worry about copyrights as far as what we're allowed to sell. Our merchandise will have more to do with our site in and of itself; if you want purely Brandon-themed merchandise, you'd have to get it from Brandon's site, Badali, or Inkwing, since they have the licenses to legally sell that stuff.

  6. Chaos is actually in the process of building pages about Brandon's books, and we're working on getting Amazon affiliate links put up. It just takes a lot of time to build all that up.

As for the staff suggestion, promotions have been - and always will be - made based on non-monetary contributions to the site and how well we think new staff members will work with those we already have. Money isn't a factor, period. It's simply not fair to those dedicated members who can't afford to buy their way on, so to speak, and I don't even want to get into the doors that would open for drama and what have you. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

As you already know, Mi'ch, I'm all for merchandising and the like.

  7. Edit: Actually, is it Mistborn Steampunk or Mistborn Western?

A little of column A, a little of column B, with a dash of mystery thrown in for good measure. At least, that's how I see it.

As for the Mistborn Adventures, I'm definitely hoping to see more Wax books. That said, no matter who's in it, if Brandon writes a Mistborn book, I'm going to read it. No questions asked.

  8. I had a fun time at Vericon. There was also sort of an impromptu Q&A session on Friday evening after the panel, but any vaguely important questions flew out of my head and I asked a rather silly one (no, shardplate doesn't look like Iron Man). Unfortunately I didn't take notes on other questions ... there was some interesting discussion on laws of physics vs laws of magic, I don't remember all the details on that though. A few questions on his upcoming publishing schedule, but I'm pretty sure it was all stuff I'd already seen online.

Plus he liked my costume -- that made me happy :-D

That reminds me, we need a gallery category for cosplay. If you have any pics of your costume, you should upload them! :D

  9. He always referred to Splinters as power, if you look closely.

From The Way of Kings, Ch. 22 epigraph (p. 323, hardcover):

Aona and Skai are both dead, and that which they held has been Splintered.

And that's all I'll say on it in this thread; I don't want to spoil anything, and besides, this isn't the place. But that's more than enough evidence for me, especially if you read the whole epigraph.

Anyways. I wish I could have gone to this signing! I hope Brandon comes back to Florida soon.

  10. This is amazing. Good, good stuff! All the info is really intriguing, and you definitely picked some awesome questions to ask. Well done, good sir! :D

EDIT: So good, in fact, that I promoted it to an article. Congratulations on making it to the front page! You wouldn't happen to have any pictures from the event so I can put one in the article, would you?
