  1. He looked down, running his hand through his hair, reddening a little, "Yeah, I guess you're right."
  2. "I think that I will find people for me here, which is what gives me hope, not just for me but for you as well." Rallohir stopped, looking her in the eyes, "It means a lot, you listening. I hope you know that you mean a lot to the people around you."
  3. "Well, when I was young, I lived in a larger town with my parents and my brother. My father was a fisherman, and a good one at that. My mother was a seamstress and my brother was well on his way to scholarship. On what seemed like a regular afternoon, when I was eight, a storm struck our coastline, and while my mother and brother were safe inside our home, my father was taken by the sea. We found out the next day, and we were never the same. My mother's workload doubled, so my brother took care of me. One day Mother fell ill, and was taken as well. My brother didn't know what to do, so he sent me to the orphanage, and I never saw him again. Years pass by, and I still remember his stories." Rallohir blinked away a stray tear, "The years in between are like a blur. Several years later, a man with ornate robes approached me and asked if I would join his religion. I was alone, and desperate, so I joined. I never really saw much of the darker side of the Athenists, until that same church leader asked me if I wanted to climb the ranks, and invited me to a meeting. It was there I saw Eddie, with a dagger raised above her, and that's when I decided that was enough. After a brief fight with a platypus, and seeing how well they fought with each other, I switched sides. I vowed to do only what was right, and right then and there I pledged my loyalty to Eddie (and company). I saw the connection they shared, the will to protect each other at all costs, and it reminded me of my family, I guess you know the rest of the story from there. I have hard life, and yet, I wouldn't give it up for anything, because of who I became, which is one of the reasons I defended you, because I saw someone who only lived the bad side of life, and I wanted you to feel the same joy I had felt, even in a hard life."
  4. "You were never a burden to any of us, in fact, you were the only one who managed to see me when no one else had." He kept pace with her, "As for me, I will walk with you, we don't have to speak, but it's nice to have the company."
  5. "The views of other people shouldn't influence how you feel about yourself. If you're really concerned about it, I honestly wouldn't be able to tell the difference, whether you were corporeal or not." Rallohir paused, thinking... "On the subject of feelings, I would say that is the purpose of this week, to find your feelings, your virtues, your hopes and dreams. To discover what life is about. You can only know if you try. The question is, will you?"
  6. "I think you should consider it," He said before exiting the train
  7. "Can a facade think for itself?" He countered, "You may not be what I think you are, but I know what you could become, and the possibility of that is wondrous."
  8. "Being someone isn't defined by having a physical body, you were someone the moment you were created. As I said before, you are not Arbiter, you are your own person."
  9. "There is purpose and there is something to fight for."
  10. "The decision is actually up to you, Vena." Rallohir said
  11. "Don't worry, you look amazing," He says, ignoring the blush spreading through his face
  12. Rallohir follows her
  13. "We should probably update the group on the current situation regarding you. Do you feel ready to go back to the others?"
  14. "He told me that you have a week free from his influence, where you could make your own decisions. I was able to convince him to let you live your own life, to make friends and have adventures, to feel real emotion and love, to experience joy and pain." Rallohir paused, "It's those things that make us alive, the good and the bad, and he only let you see the bad side of this life, which is far less than any person deserves."
  15. "Cause it was the right thing to do, it seems wrong to create an entire person for a few minutes, then destroy them for doing good"
  16. "No reason," He said quickly, too quickly, "The point is that your back, and he didn't destroy you"
  17. "I think... the Arbiter's gone, for now. I convinced him that your life is worth preserving, even if only for a temporary time" He paused, "You didn't hear any of that, did you?"
  18. "It sure seemed like she didn't want to go, she was miserable because of your influence, if you would just set her free then she might not be tormented by your expectations"
  19. "She saved Eddie's life, without her, Eddie would have either died or been crippled"
  20. "Alright fine! It's cause I like her, she's pretty! Is that so hard for your immortal mind to process? I've been ignored by literally every person on this train, including the person I pledged my loyalty to, so it was nice to finally have some attention
  21. "My personal reasons are my own, but I will say she was far better company"
  22. Rallohir stared, a dark look on his face, "It seems wrong to create someone only to destroy them, the only thing she ever did wrong was save Eddie's life" He stormed out of the car, red with anger and embarrassment
