He shouted, but he knew she wasn't there. He could sense it. She was gone. Does anyone know where Aventine is? He thought to his fellows. No response. Just silence. His breathing quickened as he walked through the flowers, until he found where she had been. A flower sat on the ground where it had been dropped. The air there was quiet, it had moved. Cadmium? He swallowed, a lump in his throat. He needed to get back to the apartment. Now. He turned and ran.
