“I get that, I can be too.”

He looked away quickly.

That’s new.

“Ok…” he said hesitantly, resolving to talk to her about it later.

“Is everything ok?”

“Oh, that’s nice. I guess I’ll be able to practice my illusions.”

“Oh, me too! They put me in it but I have no idea what we do there, do you know?”

He smiled back, he liked her smile. “What class do you have next?”

“Maybe, are you sure you’re fine?”

Daniel started to freak out. “Julie, wake up. Wake up!” He shook her slightly, hoping she would wake.

He sighed in relief. Then he saw her reaction to it . “Don’t overextend yourself, I’m not worth it.”

“Not in specific, I’m just sore everywhere. How are you doing?”

Daniel shivered, partially because of the chill, and partially because of the girl’s hand touching his face. “That’s much better, thank you.”

“I really am, it’s nothing. I don’t know why, it was just some bully.” He liked the way she looked at him.

“It was. But I’m fine.”

A minute later, Daniel sat down too. He had a black eye and his lip was split.

“Go get back to your studies, good luck! He left a short time after.

“I’ve learned all I can know from them is that the person in them will be important in my life, and that the way I die will be relevant in the next few days.”

“I don’t think that’s true. My visions haven’t been wrong yet.”

“I mean it.” ”After someone watches you die twice, they usually become important,” he joked.

“You already are one.”

“Am I not? Maybe I can give you something for now, but it won’t last. In the end I’ve done nothing. There’s reasons no one likes to be around me.”

“I’m fine except for being useless. Again.”
