Helda caught his arm, steadying him.

“Fine. You were taken in by a group of people who taught you to survive. Then, you said…you said you killed one of them to try to take away your pain. They…they cut out your tongue in punishment, and cast you out. You were attacked by someone and sent to limbo.”

“I don’t know if it’s something you’d want to know.”

“…some.”

Daniel set her down on his bed, then laid down on the ground next to it. ”I was, but it’s over now. They shouldn’t be able to find me again.”

“I…I’m sorry.”

She seemed to already be doing better, temperature lowering slightly. Her pulse was strong.

She went limp, not responding but still breathing.

“It caused me to do the work that some people needed me to do.” He kissed her forehead softly.

“Umm…six?”

Daniel set her to the side, then stood and picked her up, taking her back to his room. “You managed to break a curse and allowed me to build a body.”

“You look nice. That handsome nose, strong jawline, you look good.”

“You did, you took me back when you returned to your body.” “We can go back to my room, it’s kind of a mess though.”

“You saved me from a place called limbo, because neither of us can die we go there when our bodies are destroyed.”

“Me too.”

“Ok, I’m happy for you to stay here.” He smiled back, a true, happy smile.

He sat there, content. “Do you need water?”

“I…I like you. You look good.”
