He grinned at her. “Alright, that sounds like a good idea.”

“Yeah, me neither. Maybe the nurse would know?”

He gave a little sigh of relief. “Anyway, professional help?”

“I don’t know…was I supposed to? I don’t know how this works.”

“Oh, sorry. I…shouldn’t have called you that.”

Daniel looked into her eyes, seeing the pain there. He turned away. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have said anything.”

“I don’t know, babe we can find ourselves some kind of professional help?”

“I’m sorry. I just feel like…we’re trying to avoid things. Like my…attempts. And your arm.”

“I…I’m sorry. I ruined it, didn’t I?”

“I don’t…I’m not sure if I should. I don’t want to hurt you. I don’t want this moment to end.”

“No, it’s…well I don’t really know how to explain it.”

“Nothing,” he said, too quickly.

Suddenly, Daniel’s face fell for a jungen, but he quickly seemed to go almost back to how he’d been before.

He smiled at her, his own breathing coming quickly.

He did so, pulling her head to his, lips meeting hers.

“Good. I guess you’ll have to let me stay around,” he said, a playful tone creeping into his voice.

“Always,” he whispered back.

Eventually, Daniel broke away. He kept her close to him though.

He stopped rubbing her back, instead putting his arms around her and pulling her to his chest.

He kissed her back, feeling himself seem to meld to her.

He smiled at her, not stopping.

He put one of his hands on her back, gently rubbing it.

He held her to his chest, crying with her. “I love you Rex.”
