  1. By Ysmir, Irileth was right!
  2. So. You were at Helgen? You saw this dragon with your own eyes? (I have no clue which mod added the mask. It was clogging my inventory, so I gave it to him. As for the armor, it's from Immersive Armors. Specifically, it's the Brigand Dwemer Breastplate, I believe. Cool mod.)
  3. A (somewhat) odd thing that I've noticed about my writing is that it's easier for me to write sci-fi in first person, and fantasy in third person.

    1. Thaidakar the Ghostblood

      Thaidakar the Ghostblood

      That's cool!

I'm wondering, though, how do your characters in either sort of setting experience the setting, that might have something to do with it.

  4. "And on the third day, at dawn, began the Nirnaeth Arnoediad."

    I LOVE TOLKIEN OMG

I've read The Children of Húrin before, but I've never listened to the audiobook. It's GLORIOUS

I should listen and read it at the same time. I read it ages ago, like when I was a kid, so I don’t remember much and couldn’t conprehend literary style.

Dude it's amazing. You absolutely have to read it.

  5. "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." TPBM is listening to an audiobook.
  6. And so it begins…

Ik he's my favorite. The moment I found that the audiobook is on Spotify, I HAD to get it.

  7. He wouldn't stand a chance against al'Lan Mandragoran, Last Lord of the Seven Towers, Diamed Battle-lord of the Borderlands, Uncrowned King of the Malkieri, Blademaster, Aan'allein. Anyway! What qualities does his arc have that make him the best fantasy character of all time? Because while that is a valid opinion (Kal is like number 8 in my top ten), I disagree. I would say that it's Rand al'Thor from The Wheel of Time or Turin Turambar from The Children of Hurin. The glorious, beautiful tragedy of both their arcs is amazing, and they tie for best fantasy character of all time (BFCoaT, for short).
  8. Nope. TPBM plays Breath of the Wild.
  9. I have news from Helgen. About the dragon attack.
  10. It's been a minute since I've posted anything here. I'll start with a book update. I've stagnated a bit, but as of right now, the interlude I was working on is on hold and I have moved on to chapter… six, I think. I wrote this the other day, and I can't decide if I like it or not. It's good, but the level of casual brutality is disturbing even to me. So, TW for intense violence and strong language. The Las-gun: a science fiction short story.
  11. THAT'S AMAZING AHHHHH
  12. Can y'all pray for my girlfriend? She's having a really tough night.

  13. I added more to my most recent short story!

The Las-gun (TW for violence and strong language)

  14. Yep. The last time I did so was the night before last. TPBM likes The Princess Bride.
  15. Have Carthage, destroyed. I have the might and grandeur of the Imperial legions of Rome.
  16. Granted. Neither honor nor justice is to be found in any corner of the world. I wish for the power of the sun, in the palm of my hand.
  17. Just admit that you have permanently lost The Game. (And that you're a nerd)
  18. This is either fake or a terrible idea. The Silmarillion would be much, much better as a TV series, maybe an anthology at that.

  19. Oh my God all the hate on Disney SW is so storming exhausting. The fact that it's different than Legends doesn't make it bad. Yeah, there's some bad content, but overall, Disney SW is really good. Rebels is Disney SW, Mando is Disney SW, Andor is Disney SW, Rogue One is Disney SW, The Bad Batch is Disney SU. It was kinda dumb that Kenobi writers loopholed their way thru ANH dialogue, but it allowed us to have one of the best lightsaber duels that we've ever seen, not to mention Vader's line at the end. "Anakin gone. I am what remains." The acting, the emotion, it was so, so good. I loved the old EU, too, but at the same time, I'm grateful that we got the new SW that we did. Not all of it has been the best, but it's still Star Wars. Legends, imo, eventually became like all the Warhammer media. There's too much, it's too convoluted, and all of it actually matters. There is absolutely no way that someone else is going to get the rights to SW. Disney has made 12 billion USD off the Star Wars franchise. There is no way they're going to let it go. The only way they would would be if someone made them an offer they couldn't refuse.
  20. DUDE the og Thrawn trilogy is amazing. It's the sequel trilogy we should've gotten. I was ecstatic when they name-dropped Heir to the Empire in the Ahsoka trailer. Timothy Zahn's other Thrawn books, the canon ones, are also really, really good.
