  1. Random thought. I wonder what the population density was on Scadrial during Era 1. If each person has a small amount of additional preservation to grant them salience, would the number of people on Scadrial count. When Harmony remade the world there would have been fewer humans than in Era 2. As technology advances and the population density grows would this cause the imbalance between ruin and preservation to grow. I hope that makes sense. 100k humans at the end of Era 1 versus several billion by Era 3. If that extra bit of Preservation is causing the inbalance, increasing the population a hundred fold would surely impact Preservations total power ( recognising that there are different levels of infinity).
  2. Hey! I am currently rereading both stress and TLM on a beautiful beach in Egypt ( too much lore to digest in one go) I am drawn back to the comment where about implied that he and sixteen other people chattered Ado as they could not trust him to make his own decisions. My head cannon has always been (since Dawnshard anyway) that there would have been twenty people in total, 4 for the Dawnshard and 16 for each Shard. I am aware that Hoid was offered a shard and did not take this up. I wonder why there were seventeen people originally, did one person never intend to take up a shard? Was there an additional purpose for that person? I just think it’s random that they had one extra person lying around to take up the refused shard. I am wondering if Hoid declined the shard before they attempted the shattering but still wanted to be involved in the attempt. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated? I feel I have missed a link somewhere.
  3. I would agree that Sazed is farther down the road than initially believed. This quote doesn’t feel very Sazed “I,” Kelsier said, “am going to protect our people. Whatever it costs. Please tell me I won’t ever have to protect them from you.” “That depends,” Sazed said, “entirely upon you, old friend.” What would Kelsier have to do for Harmony to abandon or even harm the people of Scadrial. I always felt that the end of Mistborn Era 1 was tied up beautifully. I am not complaining about the new material expanding on this but it took me a long time to get into Era 2. When Sazed ascended I was in awe of how everything tied up so neatly.
  4. Thanks, I hadn’t noticed that about Miles. It is really interesting. I wonder what Harmony did intend to happen to Wax? The thing that did not work out the way he wished it to? I love all of Brandon’s works, it’s a great escape for reality and the world building is on a scale never before seen.
  5. Hi Everyone, this is my first time posting, please be gentle! Massive Brandon nerd (every book, every shardcast, every forum). I have just finished the Lost Metal and Tress. After reading both my mind keeps coming back to Wax’s strange visions of blue lines, and Harmony’s comment that he had inhaled some Lerasium so may already be a mistborn. He also made a comment about something not working out the way he intended with Wayne. I am then reminded that he required a duralumin spike rather than just burning it when he would have been mistborn at that point. My theory is that this is how the metallic arts will be reintroduced into the population somehow. His new allomantic side effects are different than the norm. If someone where to inhale lerasium wouldn’t they need to burn the new fuel reserve? If it’s a direct inhalation into the lungs, is it possible that Wax now has a new type of lerasium floating around his bloodstream. Would this fundamentally create a new power set. Would it still forge a connection to Preservation?? Is it possible that any new children would be able to generate lerasium in their blood ( can’t see how the actual particles could be transferred based on biology.) I feel that there is something there, deliberate on Brandon’s part that we are just skipping over.
