    She didn’t look happy about it, but she trusted him. She pet her horse’s neck. “Should I take September or May with me?”

    He advised that she makes sure Vey knows she appreciates him. He also told her not to apologize. It wasn’t her fault- if anyone’s it was his. He’d brought his friend to his sister hoping she could help, but instead of removing his friend’s taint it led to his friend’s death.

    She looked behind them to make sure they weren’t being followed. ~~~ Once all the students had descended into the depths of the bunker, Skysong shut the door. Yellow lights flickered above them. “Listen, everyone. I don’t know who is attacking, but we must trust Kio and his… digesting bread. We also must believe that your parents will be okay. I am certain they will be fine.”
