    “Glad you’re all okay though. If I hadn’t gotten you out..” he shuddered. Lissy’s eyes moved to look at him. He looked nice… he was probably safe.

    He shook his head. “Beats me. It’s disgusting.” Lissy listened to Aela’s heartbeat. “We’re on a train to the fields,” Cye said calmly.

    “What happened before you were in that place?” ”We ate something,” Lissy said quietly. “It made us sleep.”

    Cye turned to Lissy. “So, um.. what were you guys doing there?” She hesitated. “Someone- took us.” ”Oh. Sorry about that. You’re okay?” She nodded. “Why were you there?” ”This lady-“ he pointed a thumb at the woman “-was talking to me in the street. I wasn’t interested, but she didn’t learn me alone, so I followed. After seeing what happened, I’m glad I was there”.

    Lissy didn’t. Last time she’d slept, she was kidnapped. She was soothed, however, by Aela’s steady breathing.

    She sat next to Aela, but leaned over and placed her head against Aela’s chest. Cye sat across the aisle from them, him with the aisle seat and putting the unconscious woman in the window seat.

    Cye got on behind her and Lissy. Lissy leaned into Aela. She’d almost lost her; this had been too close.

    Cye led them to the station where the train was. “We can take the train to the fields and stay there.” As he spoke, his eyes lingered on Lissy slightly longer than the others. She didn’t notice and clung to Aela.

    Cye nodded and pulled the collapsed woman’s arm around his neck. “Follow me. If we go to the fields we can hide there.”
