Through the Living Hope

We didn’t know we were making memories. We only knew we were having fun. 

If you live to be 100, I hope I live to be 100 minus one day so I never have to live without you. 

How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard. 

Nothing ever ends poetically. It ends and we turn it into poetry. All that blood was never once beautiful. It was always just red.

Yes, you will rise from the ashes, but the burning comes first. For this part, darling, you must be brave.

Airports see more sincere kisses than wedding halls and the walls of hospitals have heard more prayers than churches; because love is felt most when it is leaving.

Even if things get really hard, I’m still me, and I’m going to be okay.

You can’t skip chapters, that’s not how life works. You have to read every line, meet every character. You won’t enjoy all of it. Hell, some chapters will make you cry for weeks. You will read things you don’t want to read, you will have moments when you don’t want the pages to end. But you have to keep going.

Just because I let you go doesn’t mean I wanted to.

Though the wound is healed, a scar remains.

Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.

The darkest nights produce the brightest stars.

You have a place in my heart no one else could ever have.

The price of having a soft heart is feeling the world’s pain.

The sad truth is that the truth is sad.

And life went on. It was not the same. But it went on.

Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.

If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever.

I sat with my anger long enough until she told me her real name was grief.

Maybe “forever” was a word meant for memories and not people.

Just because they carry it well doesn’t mean it isn’t heavy.

A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.

Don’t forget that somewhere between hello and goodbye, there was love.
